Such things are so odd but comon these days, so I was happy when one artist I know did an album where all songs had been 4+ minutes (with one that was almost 6)

Usually short songs are more like chorus repeating over and over again, maybe that's why I'm so tired of this trend, in my country a lot of popular songs are like this (there's one getting good global numbers and the songs lasts less than 2 minutes)

It's a shame really. The bridge is always my favorite part in a song but a lot of pop songs these days don't have one

She does not make the songs so she has nothing to do with the length of them

Remember Uncle Blackpinkhouse has been ranting about this for four years now .

There really is no difference between an artist's so called "art" and a song used in a commercial or a trailer these days. Both are exactly the same length, musical style, and have the same purpose: promote artist's brand above all else.

Interesting lyrics or telling a worthwhile or relevant story? Nah, it's irrelevant.

Something remotely musically interesting to do the bare minimum in changing things up from the usual dreck? Nope, too "experimental" and "noisy".

Make 2.4 minutes of the same high hat, synth percussion, autotuned emotionless chanting, single synth line? BOOYAH, we dun it, let the streaming pennies start rolling in

According to a rando music website, these are the three greatest rock songs of alltime. Just LOOK at the runtimes for these classics.

I hope New Jeans fans will take this as a call to arms. We need to start taking action and trend hashtags like #NewJeansDeserveBetter. Let's boycott Ador by refusing to stream any of their songs and demand better for our faves.

NJ stans are getting bent over by Hybe/Ador. They spent so much time on their debut and now you get their "C" effort at best for this 2nd comeback.

Why? Because they can get away with it. NJ has already won over Korea. Min Hee-jin could have produced 6 nursery rhymes on this album and fans would still play/buy their way up to the top of the charts.

more concerned about the melodies than the length since super shy kinda sucked and that coke ad was a song of all time. i'm starting to think that they'll never be able to top hype boy since that song is an all time great

I'm gonna miss bridges for this EP, or maybe even good song outros. Hurt's outro was sooooo good. But NJ are just following global hits trends, so it makes sense

As It Was was 2:47, Cupid was 2:50, Boy's a Liar p2 was 2:11

We'll see how long this trend lasts

Whats even funnier than 2 minute songs, is 2 minute songs where the chorus is the same 1-2 lines repeated over and over and takes up more than half the song.
