It's probably 2016. That was the peak of 3rd gen if you want to consider no idol group did bad in a year.

people say that 2016 and 2018 which it's kinda true since they have some bangers, but since 2018 is 4th gen . . . it's will be probably imo 2015 - 2017 since the most music that I know is pretty good as someone who mostly enjoy 4th gen.

2018 was the peak imo. I cant think of any group that wasted that year

2016 had some of the best music from Kpop groups, No year had come close to the amount of bops we got from such a big variety of groups / soloists

It's 2016.

Mamamoo, GFriend and Twice had their first big hit songs that year, with You're The Best, Rough and Cheer Up respectively. All three songs scoring PAKs on the digital charts. Then you had Black Pink debuting with a PAK with the release of Whistle/Boombayah in August. And Red Velvet had already established itself as a powerhouse at the time as well.

These groups were all over K-Pop and by far the hottest girl groups of that year. They dominated every metric you can think of and the competition was fierce.

2018 is a good year as well, but it does have some crossover with 4th gen.

2016 was pure 3rd generation domination.
