Hyoyeon " Deep" : BOP vs Flop

i actually love it. The chorus is so catchy she looks absolutely stunning

she looks fucking amazing, love the mv and kinda like the bridge+drop, but the rest of the song is a big no. that deep deep deep whip whip whip part is so grating.

hyo's always been so hit and miss for me. she clearly likes this style of music, but i just don't fuck with it.

I could not always understand hyo's compositions, but the penultimate releases drew me in quite well, I will have to listen to even more relevant ones

She looks amazing, and I love the concept, but I think I'm resigned that the songs of hers I do like (Second) are more the exception than the rule.

I hope she finds a lot of success with her first album! I know she's worked hard for it.

I like it overall but I’m not a fan of the beginning part of the chorus that repeats deep deep or whip whip. Rest of it sounds good. Still not in the same league as Sober and Punk Right Now but it’s still refreshing to see someone like Hyo try new things often, her B side Stupid is a better song and it’s more of a summer song.

Like the mv, has a bit of creepiness without being a turn off (except that random tarantula near the end lol).

I totally agree, If it was like the Dessert song, I would still like it. Also I don't like club songs that may be the reason. Still I wish success Hyo debut album.

For a DJ, it's a BOP. I mean, she has to blast it off at some events so it makes sense why it sounds so.

Personally, I love it. It's different and fun.

How did she go from Sober and Punk Right now to this boring ass song?

I won't vote on this song. It def. feels more like a "DJ HYO leaning" track (which is usually a little left of center in ways) to play during her DJ sessions. Thinking about being able to flip back and forth from DJ-ing to having your own "full-on" performance seems like it could be a c00l experience if the songs are right.

The intro could have felt hotter if it was just a decent Latin flavoured percussive rhythm then the massive "hammer drop" into the first verse. That actually feels more true to how a spider moves. SME usually has issues around getting the beat programming right in songs on the regular though.

The chorus felt really good after the breakdown, but I don't think it's memorable/catchy enough to be the actual chorus of the entire song.

I don't care for this kind of music. Hyoyeon sings well when they let her, and every song she has released with actual vocals is pretty good. This one won't make my current top 20 playlist.
