That's actually a really good point: I'm sure she feels the pressure as the best power belter of her generation to go the Lee Young Hyun route with a power ballad like Resignation.

But she does go on a lot of shows, and that also explains her weaker youtube views.

Hopefully she gets some of those crazy older fandoms that blow up album sales next time.

I actually had this same discussion awhile ago lol just gonna link it here

But again, adding on solarsido's drop, I'm seriously shocked. Solar had the most fanservice and was really casually popular...tbh because of her visuals too.

    :pepe-shrug: no idea

    Lmao

Didn't see that! I'll go take a look!

I don't follow Solar very often, but I was pretty shocked to see that Spit It Out had 84,951 sales, but her newer and better project 容 : FACE had 44,773...which is a severe drop. I thought Solar was the 2nd most popular in-fandom after Moonbyul? I was very impressed in Moonbyul crossing 100k sales, but I'm wondering why Solar dropped so far behind.

Unlike Wheein and Hwasa, Solar did start off with good album sales.

Not to mention, Solar has some of the best content on Solarsido out of any idol rn, but it keeps getting less and less views. Heavily encourage anyone who's reading this to go check it out, because it's really a hidden gem.

Why the drop? She's improved on pretty much every aspect: her vocals have heavily improved + her skills are as stellar as ever. For her album imo, I think it's because she makes the least public friendly music in MAMAMOO.

Anyways, she's debuting in a musical soon too, so I hope she finds more success there.

    Edit: picture

Yeah, took them a while to pull out something so easily accessible...

It wouldn't be easily accessible-no school will have these simply behind a desk, especially since it's a rather large school.

Well for sure OP will lose their job now if security cameras figure out who it is: the school does not want this publicity. That's why most people don't show documents like this. Job is too important.

Not to mention HYBE could use this in court in their favor even if Garam was proven to be a bully. It was a risky move.

Bro all these Lesserafim drama, BTS enlistment drama, TXT album sales drama, doesn't it all seem a little too coordinated?

Now, granted the Garam paper could be fake, but lets just pretend for a minute that it is not, lets say it is 100% real, who the heck managed to dig that paper out? It is a 2018 file, probably archived long time ago. Some random Pann girl wouldn't be able to retrieve that paper. Someone's really opened a hunting season on Bang PD so yall better buy lots of popcorn :pepe-popcorn:

2018 file is normal? You keep papers from 2018-2022, so it makes sense since this case is such a hot topic that someone involved with the school exposed it. Most A+ students in Korea work in the office and will have access to such papers. It's not like this is a top school either, it's mostly an angry teacher/top student.

    The companies management is atrocious

I hope they will all become successful after living even if its in other capacities

Is it confirmed they're disbanding after? It's prob a 100% then....

I hope Jueun, Eunice, Eunchae, Yebin have successful paths, for Huihyeon (Cathy) to gain the fame she had in PD-101 again, and for Chaeyeon to have the hit acting career she always was destined for. I will also always have a soft spot for Somyi, she wanted so much more.

You're totally right. I had just gotten off reading the entire book, and totally worded my initial response wrong. It's most likely to be an anti-but that placement is incredibly wild.

It also is put in the predebut section - it's possible another SM trainee/stories of trainees had caused that passage but it does make sense inter-company trainee competition has to be brutal. I...don't think Sooyoung is sleeping much tonight though.

Sooyoung did that or that's just a book character?

Some of you are taking that book as gospel

That's some big accusations, if sooyoung is implied in any illegal activity, she will sue.

That's why I'm so annoyed/surprised? C-Sones are actually taking it as fact as it is in a section where Jessica is telling the truth in terms of facts (ie Taeyeon/Sooyoung parents not liking her, them not getting along as trainees, the entire fashion vs acting drama, the Krystal tension, also the drama with the manager).

Jessica says it was one of the incidents that made her and Mina become sworn enemies. But this is a serious crime and if it's true Sooyoung should be prosecuted legally, and if it's fake Jessica should be prosecuted legally.

I wish I am wrong and they sell out however likeliness is very little. I don't think they can fill even 1k capacity venues, why would their company set them up like that?

Generally this is what I hate about this small agencies, they don't even know how to react to success, let alone achieve it. In just a year they wasted all the hype Brave Girls had. Their follow ups did even worse than Gfriend or Exid's and even those of Momoland. They literally had so many examples to learn from to not make a 2.0 comeback, but they ran right through it

They can sell out 1k in Korea...idk about America. They don't even get 1K likes on their tweets total. The NYC one should be fine - it's part of a bigger festival. If they can get the actual military base in Dallas to hear about Brave Girls, it'll be a hit. I may drive a couple thousand miles just to see them (and my love Minyoung). They'll def sell better than you think though, there's demand. They're only going to big cities.

Yep, it fits the theory Seohyun, Yoona were more bystanders, Sunhee is the mix of both Seohyun and Sunny, who was very sympathetic to Jessica, Jiyoon is again, Hyoyeon. Yuri I really doubt was super close to any GG member besides Hyoyeon

Yuri was initially sympathetic but then switched towards Taeyeon/Tiffany and Sooyoung.

Jessica has a weird snippet about Mina trying to drug Jessica to get her kicked out as a trainee - people are blaming it on Sooyoung.

wait does this mean she's won't even be part of OMG at all????

like not even an SNSD or Mamamoo situation where some members sign with different agencies but like she's not even a member at all?

See SNSD + Mamamoo at least continued in the entertainment world. Jiho seems to have left (will cheer as a commoner) which is completely understandable.

She's the member who took the most number of hiatus since the early days of Omg career i infact expected her to leave much earlier i thought she would leave right after JinE but she hanged on ans she stayed with the group but it's sad to see her leave when Omg is still at their peak but i guess that's what works the best for her hopefully she'll get prosperous life

Exactly, I could see how much she was struggling mentally even after JinE had departed the group, and it was no secret among Miracles too. But Jiho has performed remarkably throughout her tenure as an idol. It was the right time to leave. Besides Twice, no other 2015 group is as hot as Oh My Girl now, and Jiho will get many modeling/acting contracts or even CFs if she choses to do so. It is possible to live a part-time life as a commoner and have a few CFs for monetary income.

Naeun left because her actress contract was clashing with her group interests. This is a bit different although I see the sentiment.

Because it's lame at best and disrespectful at worst. Like I said Hyoyeon has more than earned her right to shine on her own and here comes SM allegedly shoving her into something that she's not related to.

It doesn't matter if Hyoyeon isn't Taeyeon level, no one expects her to be. She's had multiple previous releases as Hyoyeon/DJ Hyo without any issue so why the "effort" now? She's unlikely to light up the charts as is so expecting her to do so through just a connection to aespa assuming the public will be in interested in the lore is stupid and out of touch. Not even Marvel individual franchises get the boosts off one another simply they're related (eg Thor 1 and 2 weren't blowing away the box office because Iron Man or Avengers smashed previously).

But it's not just Hyoyeon, all the SM artists got to pick to be involved in some way. Kyuhyun said he CHOSE not to be involved but he had recieved an offer to be involved in Kwangya. Hyoyeon got that choice and probably said yes? Even Boa said she CHOSE to have her comeback snippit/teaser in Black Mamba but again she's a creative director.

Key chose not to be involved in Kwangya at all, his solo was completely different but Taemin through SuperM seemed to be involved even before Aespa debuted.

That's a shitty idea if SM did that. Hyoyeon has been with SM all her life, part of THE SNSD, a soloist in own right and now finally getting her album after all these years but it's true then she's being reduced to essentially as a hype man for another group.

Should be Hyo own project same way Taeyeon releases are

Taeyeon is also related to Kwangya - through INVU and her lyrics. Hyoyeon just has a darker theme. Even Seulgi's solo peek in Feel The Rhythm seemed to have a Kwangya theme.

Kwangya isn't just for Aespa, it's for all SM artists. They'll just be involved in different ways. It's again like the MCU: I really doubt Hyoyeon's solo is going to be all about Kwangya like Aespa's but it's just the settings. Even NCT had that way before Aespa.

Also I really doubt Hyoyeon's solo is only meant to be hype for Aespa, you're seeing it this way as Mys are primarily posting: it is actually meant to entice SM stans into buying Hyoyeon's album - not just SONEs. That is the point of SM family: more sales = more $$. Now Hyoyeon's album is getting more talk and she'll get more fans.

I don't see why they wouldn't renew. They just came back and seem to be doing well in recent times.

If it's just a matter of negotiations, hope they can get what they want.

I actually kinda disagree? Jooheon and IM do a lot of hiphop stuff and write their own music but Starship doesn't allow them to keep copyrights over their own music. That's a HUGE blow. Imagine you not getting to perform your own song. It's perfectly obvious why they'd be in negotiations.

    May I know why? :eyes:

Minhyuk is the most anti-Starship member of them all, which makes sense. Kinda like how WM didn't promote Jiho despite her being a visual: where Binnie/Arin got acting gigs. Minhyuk openly said to fans Starship messed up some things about his acting career.

Shownu has the closest connection to Starship, it makes sense why he'd want to stay. Kihyun gets a lot of musical/vocalist deals since he's one of the few strong vocals in Starship. WJSN's main vocalists are rumored to be leaving and none of Ive are primarily vocalists. He also had a great solo debut. Hyungwon did well in Fly Again, and so Starship works well for him.

It's possible some of them go to Starship's sublabel Highline with Wonho instead: I think the group contract hinders them.
