Max Changmin 'Devil' MV

to make it short:
- vocals on point
- visuals on point
- mv on point
- choreo on point
although I didnt know about the song first, it really reminded me of 'showman'. but his high vocals make everything great.

I liked Alien and Maniac the best. Fever is a solid runner-up. Devil is my least favorite of the album. When he mentioned Kwangya it took several points down for me and it felt the most replaceable.
Something I'm noticing with Aespa lore is that it is hap-hazardously slapped into the works of other SM acts to make the SMCU feel more real. Throwing around vocabulary does not a cinematic universe make. SMCU is lacking extensive backbone material to justify why all these acts are connected. That is difficult to do with them trying to include acts that have extensive careers already.

I don't care for the song (which feels very familiar, I think because I've heard many songs like this from Western artists), but I think the video is beautiful and he sounds amazing. Even if I feel like "it's been done," I appreciate that it's something different for kpop rn. It's also nice to see the kind of work the older SM artists are doing, which shows potential paths for the younger ones.
I thought this was a really interesting EP even if most of it wasn't my taste. Again, nice to see exploration of styles. I really liked Alien tho!
