aespa had a better year but it doesn't mean they're the number 1 gg. Blackpink have been doing well for years when aespa is only doing well for a short time so yeah blackpink. we'll see in a few years if that's still the case cause some groups chart high in their debut year and then become flops. Definitely not going to happen with aespa, but a decline if it comes to charts is still possible

When it comes to popularity in South Korea, Gallup is still THE undeniable indicator of that metric.
The most recent Gallup report shows that when it comes to popularity, Blackpink are still the #1 most popular girl group even when Aespa are the #2 most popular girl group right now.
Even aside from that, when it comes to international popularity, Blackpink far surpass all other girl groups right now. That might change if YG in their usual way f**k up their girl groups' careers by putting them in years long dungeon stays before disbandment.
But right now, Blackpink are the #1 girl group and very likely stay that way for quite some time.

wow, aespa must be really popular since everyone is trying to reason with OP's obvious troll. BP and Twice still are a league of their own. aespa had a great year, probably the best year a gg had after Twice and BP's dominance (I said maybe because I am not sure) but it's early to tell especially with fickle kpop fans and their urge to end everyone's career. They need a stable fandom after staying years with them to hold their position.

I mean BP were ahead of aespa on Gallup despite them being N\A the whole year. It's still them, while I'd say aespa are #2. Unless BP suddenly disbands or the GP mysteriously rejects their next comeback I wouldn't say aespa are #1 yet. They're def #1 when it comes to 4th gen groups though.
Clearly this isn't a SNSD\TWICE situation where the older group starts losing popularity as soon as the younger group start doing well.

It’s still Blackpink but aespa are creeping up. If BP don’t release any music as a group this year again and aespa has another hit or two in 2022, then I’ll be rethinking this discussion.
I honestly believe BP will release an album this year and it will do exceptionally well, especially on the Korean charts. But Aespa are for sure in the top on there way to being #1. Also remember though, there’s some highly anticipated groups debuting this year. Competition is going to be crazy.

Once and Blinks have the largest, most active guilds on this forum and are the only 2 girl groups each with their own guildforum section.
Some bg fandoms have even larger, more active guilds but they hardly ever actively support gg's just because they're of the same company
As for people voting for Aespa, might be that people are confusing 'trending' (hype popularity) with longer-term popularity. Or it could be BP antis too, there've been some fandoms that Blinks have been heavily fanwarring with on this forum for years, from what I recall

I wasn't aware that OP's a chronic troll, it could've been a serious question, after all Aespa are definitely 1 of the hottest, top trending groups of the past year together with Brave Girls, and they're #2 most popular girl group in Gallup's most recent survey.
But thanks for the heads up, let's see if future threads of OP have a similar vibe as Teshub/Seulgisabs/Drew/Twicesuu threads.

I voted Aespa and I don’t even like Aespa because they’re the ones that released music and have had consistent hits. While neither Lisa nor Rose had that level of success. So it’s obvious that Aespa is the answer.

Bp ranked 3rd overall 1st for gg in galllup this year- that is most accurate.
Who else does hiatus like Blackpink? Lol. It's not feelings. We just don't see proof yet. If anything, it's those that voted æspa that is relying on their feelings, because how else? You only feel like they are more popular now. At least, wait for the comeback.
