Its hypocritical for I-Fans to expect Koreans to know everything about their culture/events but doesnt care when its Korean culture/events

I haven't seen anyone say all Koreans should know that stuff. It's different cultures. Of course they wouldn't know unless they went to school in a country that, that kind of stuff took place at.

Jisoo probably chose that drama because the writer also wrote Sky Castle. A huge drama in South Korea. YG had to approve it first anyway before she could even see the script.

I'm staying out of this one, and just going to watch what happens. Both sides of this are adamant, so I don't know what to think or believe since it is not my culture.

I think it's up to Koreans to determine what happens. They signed the petition, so let's see if that affects anything or if the broadcasters think their freedom of speech is sacred and don't think the drama shines a negative light and distorts Korean history after everything.

The producer said it himself he convince Jisoo to join.... Jisoo is not some A star actress that she can ''choose'' a drama to act.... Sometimes I think if people wrote some random country just bomb USA with 10 nuclear bomb in reddit you people would just believe it and spread it around without confirming...

As for the drama, I think we I-fans should not be so loud about it even if it got canceled because this is about Korea history, not ours..

I remember I signed one for a murder or something some time ago. So, I don't know if now it's possible or now but months ago it was possible.

Anyways, I hope the blue house replies and gives an answer. Hoping they won't cancel the show.

I saw the thread on reddit and now I can see why Koreans are mad. Don’t know about Korean history but I feel like they are more pressed about how the characters are portrayed than the plot itself.

The mean characters are portrayed as decent and tolerable people when in fact in real life they would have killed people.

However you can’t say we have to understand Korean POV when we don’t know about Korean history. Ofc people will get offended because all the fuming is going straight to Jisoo’s character when in fact the problematic character is the NK spy.

You don’t expect Korean to know about CA, N-word and shit then don’t expect I-fans to know about all Korean history.

The plot and scenes were already filmed. The production took only longer because they changed some things. Even when they didn't see it, the blue house knew what the plot was about. They have checked it.

It's a far more complicated process than that, as I said they couldn't do much because that would have been an infringement of freedom of speech. The Blue House couldn't tell them what or not to do. Jtbc changed things to avoid further backlash, which clearly didn't work.

Now that the drama has aired The Blue House can properly review the material and decide what to do with it.

Well, some people who defend this drama will probably be the first one to go crazy and sign a petition if Korean drama/movie distort their country’s history and calling it “Fiction”.
