A Vice interview is a helluva get tbf.

“I’m excited and scared to see what it is like to perform alone. Like that performance is weighing on my mind… I’m afraid because I’m not used to having this kind of pressure on me.”

The first thought that comes to my head is, "Fear or, more deeply, anxiety?" I think he'll be able to push through and overcome any bad feelings. His 3-song set on Asia Rising Together was engaging. It connected well emotionally; most male artists don't do that good enough.

"I would have to be nine different people if I’m going to sing the nine different songs,” Park said of his struggle to prepare for the upcoming performance. “They’re all different ranges, they’re all different sounds, they’re all different rhythms, they’re all different types of voices. And I’m kind of lost, but I’ve been starting to figure it out. It has been starting to come to me.”

I wonder if Jae has heard any music by Nelly Furtado before? I think she's also a good example of having a kaleidoscopic catalog of songs. It can work; nobody is 1-dimensional. For example, "Big Hoops", "One Trick Pony", "....On The Radio", and "No Hay Igual" are different but are true to her influences, sensibilities, and artistry.

“I’m just trying to make… music that I think is good, and not necessarily [what] everyone thinks is good. I never planned on being a Billboard artist. I just want to be someone that people can vibe to when they’re feeling a certain type of way,” Park said.

I think if he makes music that he can feel good about, there are fans and listeners who will be receptive to feeling the same over and over again too. I hope he takes his time, no rush. Letting it come organically on its own timing is always best.

I see there is a really good upcoming opportunity for him to shine sometime within the next few years. We all know Day6 shines together in a notable way and it's also nice for people to see and appreciate the individual light spectrums of the group, especially the "Jae ray".
