This was my exact reaction to this post and not trying to shade anyone either. Itzy are amazing in every metric so this is old news for fans.

One of their comeback stages for Not Shy was really good. They were very stable.

Yes I understand that not all groups choose to lipsync or choose to have pre-recorded vocals because of whatever reason or because their company chooses not to let them sing live so I won't hold it against them.

And yes even though there is a backtrack ITZY's performances are some of the few ones in this era where I do think they sing live more than having pre-recorded vocals/lipsync

People complain about Itzy's songs, saying they have too much chanting/rapping/talk rapping. But this is JYP being smart for once. Not only are their songs bops (they dont have a single bad title song yet), but they're made in a way that allows Itzy to do their hard ass choreo while also being able to reasonably sing live. JYP isnt forcing them to belt out Nessun Dorma while doing 8 million drops in 3 minutes.

Generally-speaking, the ability to sing live while dancing is a function of the artist's stamina. They need great oxygen-processing efficiency in their breathing and cardiovascular system. Because all the muscles are using oxygen for dancing, they have to be able to get the maximum amount of energy out of a limited supply of oxygen in order to keep going as long as possible before switching to anaerobic exercise.

I'd be interested to know what kind of exercise routines they have to do every day in order to build up that much stamina. I know Chaeryeong and Yeji can do full-body planks for at least 1 min 15 secs and Ryujin can go up to 2 mins 30 secs. And that's one of their regular warm-up exercises before dance practice.

EDIT: And Chaeryeong also shared the story about how when she was a JYP trainee alongside Tzuyu, their class had to do sit-ups and 90 burpees as warm-up exercises before they dance. That's how JYP trains its' artists to be able to sing live.
