Yuna has the looks, charm, and vibes. Plus she could easily sound similar to Yuna, her solo stage “u go girl” showed that she can easily make playful pop music, so why is JYP wasting such a gem? No offence to the other itzy girls, but Yuna overshadows them by miles, she easily has what it takes to become the next Hyuna , or just have a successful solo career
Why isn’t Yuna getting pushed like Hyuna ?

I think JYP has been scared to create another Miss A phenomenon for way too long. By doing it so strictly, JYP fails to balance it out. It's either all or nothing.
JYP missed Yeji's and Ryujin's momentum right after debut and is wasting Yuna's momentum in this last few years. I too believe Itzy is poorly managed and could've had regained their popularity already if the members were best promoted.

Does Yuna even want to have a solo pop career?
That’s a possibility because she does have an acting role lined up with a good cast. Maybe she wants to focus on that more than a soloist career. I think long-term that’s a better route imo

JYP is obsessed with milking his acts.
Part of that means making them popular enough to have massive fanbases who still buy records and go to concerts, but not popular enough so that the idol can develop their own individual brands and fanbases like Blackpink, Bigbang, BTS, and leave JYP. If you truly want your idols to succeed after their group disbands, you should be promoting them individually while the group is close to its peak.
Part of that also means he shrewdly picks trainees who might nothave the burning desire to be a solo act, to want that spotlight solely for themselves, with all the baggage that entails. You have to have the personality for it. Some idols like me are prob very resistant to change and are happy with trading away more fame or money for a more stable, secure and comfortable living. I'd rather make 1 mil per year and not stress every fucking day vs making 10 mil per year and dread having to do solo shit.

I don't think she has what it needs to be the next "Hyuna", "Hyuna" was way more than just a pretty charming face, her peak was full of charisma and great songs.
And I know some of you believe about Suzy's trauma, but it's also not like anyone can match Suzy's fame in sk, it's not easy to have a successful solo career, maybe jype thinks it's more profitable to have groups with huge fandoms then trying soloists that won't make much for them.
-
Honestly, I think during prime JYPE time, Yuna definitely would have been a star by now.
JYPE could have pushed so many members of Twice and ITZY during their peaks, but yeah, they just prefer to focus on group promotions. I feel like they only even offer solos as leverage in contract negotiations tbh.
I do think they are doing better with solo work for NMIXX, but NMIXX hasn't seen the same peaks as their predecessors so...

She lacks sex appeal and charisma. She's cute and all that but Hyuna was one of a kind.

I don’t really get the “JYP trauma” talk when it comes to Suzy. Suzy did most of her advertisements solo, and the earnings were split—50% to JYP, and the other 50% shared among the members.
So even Suzy’s solo activities were actually beneficial to JYP.
Now about Yuna — JYP is wasting a lot of potential. If she had more individual promotions, she could easily rival Wonyoung. And let’s be real, one of the key reasons for IVE’s popularity is Wonyoung herself.

Well itzy needs to be popular, so Yuna can become popular too.
Both MissA, Wonder Girls&4minute were popular among GP.
When itzy was popular prior to 2022 the members were going viral a lot. JYP started pushing solo too late.
Now she has much less chance to become popular, unless she becomes an A-list actress which is not easy at all. I doubt she will become a great soloist tho.

I will pretend I know that much about the members, but are Yuna really more popular than any other member in the group? She is the "lead dancer"? I have never got the impression any of the members have any huge popularity compared to any other in the group even if I know it was a lot of talk about Ryujin at the start. But as the younges mebmer I guess it could be "problematic" to promote her too much compared to the others.

It's because she doesn't have the same charisma than Hyuna
Hyuna cause a huge stir when she debuted
A lot of koreans comment were saying how after seeing Hyuna in Irony Mv made them search for the groups
How her voice was different and they liked it
And when they start to perform on music show everybody notice how she dancer and her charisma on stage
If you watch an Irony performance your eyes directly gets attracted by Hyuna performance you can see how energetic she was on stage and how she moves
And you could already see that she was fitted for a more " mature " concept
There was a lot of talk when she departed the group from koreans asking if the wonder girls could survive after losing such a key member
I don't think personally that Yuna have this aura or feel like an artist that know herself like Hyuna

Hyuna at her peak had songs loved by Koreans, and very proportional body. Not to mention she could rap and sing.
Yuna is clearly going into acting.
Also with overall sales decline in KPOP it might be a huge trickery to debut soloist these days. Here is an example, back in the day Nayeon sold more than 500k in 1st week, Jihyo as well, then Tzuyu sold around 330k if I remember well, and now Chaeyoung sold 160k or something like that.
In the meantime MV production costs went up, probably as well as music production costs. So it's natural thing like in any other parts of our lifes, something which was a great idea in 2022-2023 might not really be a good idea at the end of 2025.
At this point if I would be owner of all big companies probably the only ones I would release their solo albums are: Karina, Winter, Wonyoung, Yujin.
All other 'big guns' already released their solos.
There are two wild cards which you could take some risk tho, those are IVE Liz, and Babymonster Ahyeon.

Itzy is a bankable group, that's the priority for BLU:M (JYPE's Division 2) and we don't know what Yuna wants to do, that's up to her to decide and not the company or fans to force on her.
Hyuna needed to have work because 4 Minute wasn't paying the bills, just the same as miss A weren't getting the work whereas BLU:M can plan a year ahead for Itzy with a full schedule.
If the conditions of their contract renewals are similar to TWICE's, then all members of Itzy can ask for a Solo Music Debut or career in Acting.
So the reason why BLU:M doesn't force Yuna into a Solo is because they just don't need to.

but is Yuna really more popular than any other member in the group?
She's third in popularity, at least according to Instagram followers:
