Is it strange that i don't care about solo music from a group I stan for?

No. I love many groups and some of their members have a solo career or acting career, but I don't listen to every music they release or watch their shows or movies.

For example. I love Mamamoo, and I love all 4 member as a soloist, because their style fits well with mine. But I couldn't say the same about SNSD or Red Velvet. I only follow Taeyeon and Wendy, basically. I like the others too, but most of their songs are not my style.

I normaly don't like solos from group member either. I have always thought that as long as a group is actice they should focus on the group. Solos should be done after a group have disbanded or near the end.

No not at all, I am a big fan of DK of iKON but his solo debut really wasn't my taste. I'm still supportive of him but just don't like his recent release but I will keep an eye on his music going forward either way. 🤷‍♀️

Not at all in fact that's pretty normal.

Even when it comes to bands I don't usually care about the members' work outside the band and I think that's perfectly fine.

Just like how someone can enjoy the solo artist but not their band, etc.

This is because each individual has an artistic vision of their own, when a person is part of a group they put aside this personal vision in the service of the group which also has its own vision. That's why you can find totally opposite concepts for an artist between his group and solo activity.

The only example of a group in kpop that is truly dependent on the artistic vision of a single person that comes to mind is BIGBANG with GDragon but he is truly an extraordinary case playing in its own league.

It because Blackpink members only release one song solo. Maybe that's why you don't care? Because you listen to one song and it's already over. Even if a song they release is the best, when it comes to an album, if there are not 5-6 songs, there is nothing left to listen to.

I think it's pretty normal. It happens to me with Girls' Generation and Red Velvet, I barely check their solos.

The only group whose solo music I like almost as much as their group music is EXO.

Not really, solo artists will have different music to the group, and if music is the reason why you're stanning then obviously you might not be interested in the kind of music the members put out individually

even within the same group you can have some music which you enjoy and others which you don't

Solos are usually purposely done to have different concept from the group. If you love rock music, you aren't going to suddenly like hip hop just because your bias released a hip hop album.

Tbf regardless if hard to love is on a BP album, it’s the best song sang by a solo member

It's not suprising because its depends on the music that is often different from the groups. I don't always like my groups' members solo music and I don't really mind. Soloists often explore diverse sounds way more than some groups so I can like one soloist comeback and not the next one.
