People are jealous of their success and they know they can never be them, so they hate on them to try and diminish them

If you're referring to my thread, I don't hate IVE at all, Wonyoung and Liz are my favourite Idols atm, but Le Sserafim as a group WILL defeat them in the long run. You think IVE will be as interesting as they are rn (for Korea) in 2 years? 3 years? 4 years?

For me I'm enjoying their slow decline each comeback. This makes it more delicious, because if they outright flopped, the Dives here would be silent like Nmixx or Ke1pler fans.
They are still trying with their sajaegi, but just cant keep up anymore with the others across all areas, because it just costs them too much now.

1) people treat this like sports and its why people love to play the stats games so much (guilty even though I don’t even love sports)
it also has a weird crossover with celebrity culture and a touch of weebish/incel flavor so you get this mix of bad traits in there
2) people also tend to hold grudges especially on forums with usernames/histories/etc, and take out group wins/losses on specific users instead of acting like human beings***
3) IVE have always been an interesting group just based on their history alone. IMO this era they got much more interesting because of their ambition, they’re clearly making plays for a long game (I am not commenting on the results of that plan)
*** I actually think this place would get less toxic if people just admitted they didn’t like certain users, and not used the relevant groups as tools for their beef. Then you’d either have an open discussion and resolve it or someone would go OTT and get banned. But pretending it’s about kpop is the AKP way

At the end of the day IVE is still successful, and there are that demographic of people that do like to hate certain k-pop groups, just based of their popularity. It's sad yes, but it's even sadder when you realize that it's because they are in the spotlight a lot, and have multiple hit songs under their belt. In the long run IVE is IVE to me, and people are unfortunately going to try and put them down.
