They now join Lesserafim as the only 4th gen girl group to reach platinum certification in Japan. This is even more impressive considering Lesserafim were caught faking their album sales in Japan so I guess you could say IVE are the only 4th gen girl group to reach this accomplishment.

charting at 78 on the hot100 isn't dominating the west btw. The only reason they are able to chart in the US is because of Hybe who has the most reach in the US out of any Kpop company.

Well I don't think NewJeans can even be counted anymore, they are about to go on indefinite hiatus and Hybe has replaced them with Illit who stomped all over NewJeans global achievments. Not to mention they will never have another smash like their debut now that Hybe has cut all their payola to the group.

Lesserafim are essentially a joke, they are a mediocre dance group whose reputation is tanked in Korea, their album sales are down by like 50% or more (same as NewJeans) all they have is spotify which Hybe is paying a fortune for just so they can chart in the late 90's on the hot 100 for 1 week.

Meanwhile IVE have multiple hits under their belt, the best selling gg album of 2024 and are now finishing a $40 million dollar world tour.

I'm not surprised they did better on Spotify this time, it was obvious Hybe was going to go all out with the Spotify payola because their reputation is completely tanked in Korea. The song was also kind of listenable for fans this time because there wasn't a lot of singing although Kermit the frog's rap verse was quite jarring.
