Hard for me to view it this way. I only got into Kpop in 2019 and have had to go back to listen to older songs from 2nd gen or even my fave 3rd gen groups.

I will say that every year has been a peak year for Kpop for me, it's still the Golden Age. I was worried that NJ cultural reset would ruin things by ending BP and Twice style EDM girl crush or cutesy, but so far, i have still found plenty of good to SOTY quality songs, i've just had to look a little harder. More B sides, more solo acts.

Already at least 15 SOTY quality or potential SOTY quality songs released and still four more months to go.

2nd gen

the nostalgia for those times is real

Even the best albums from 2nd gen came out during 3rd gen

2015 to 2018 were the best years for kpop

No gen will beat the 3rd Gen

in terms of music for me the golden age was the 2nd to the 3rd generation until 2016.

there's SO much great music in 3rd gen

The best period was around 2010-2012 when groups like 2NE1, T-ara, Sistar, Girls's Generation and Miss A was peaking and groups like KARA and Wonder Girls was still in the game.

3rd gen, specifically 2016 to 2018

I like more groups in 3rd gen and had more people to talk about it with so I think my best times with kpop was during 3rd
