Red Velvet. They're going to have the longevity advantage over everyone. I liked Kara, but they're disqualified as far as I'm concerned, having dropped to 4 members. Groups like G-Idle don't count for similar reasons (not that I'd choose them anyway.)

If a group had to *debut* with five members, then Kara and Red Velvet shouldn't be included.

Nothing arbitrary about it. Losing a member is always a black mark on a group. A clear negative, both literally & figuratively. Gaining a member, especially only a year into your career, is not (unless you're T-ara.) Kara is best known for their previous 5-member lineup, but they didn't even become a 5-member group until after losing a member, then they eventually lost two more, necessitating bringing in another new member on the tail end of their original run just to make it four. And that's not even considering what happened after that. Simply too inconsistent to compare with the longevity & stability of a group like RV.
And I'm certainly not going to praise you as a great 5-member group when you spent most of your career as six members but then lost one due to a bullying scandal. It just ain't happening.

There's something to be said for a group's stability, whether you realize it or not.

Even if Crayon Pop is my favorite group in list, it's a bit hard to vote for them, so I must say Wonder girls. But for me personally Crayon Pop gave me more fun and good music, but it's hard to call them "the best" when going up agains groups like Wonder Girls and KARA.

OP was probably going with what their most famous or popular line up was, like the line up everyone thinks of when they think of that group
Sulli wasn’t there for the end but when you think of f(x) it’s hard not to think of her. Same with Soojin and (G) IDLE, who have fallen off massively since she left tbh
