It's actually easy to know who gonna be the next big thing in kpop

  • When kpop fans especially those stans twitter (the hell of kpop) hate that group and all negative opinions or 'constructive criticism' about them being massively like. And more kpop fans suddenly agree that the group is only popular but not talented. Anything saying the group is untalented and didn't deserve their popularity getting a lot of likes. I was active in Twitter back then during 3rd gen and I see opinions like this about Bts and Bp with thousands of like every two business days. It's the way how I know they gonna be the biggest among their peers. Hate definitely created more protective fandom.

Also it's a sign that the group actually treating those kpop fans' faves so they collectively attacking the group indirectly. It's as simple as how hard people trying to bring them down and how some people always trying to cancel them. You can see it at every cb for example, there's always someone who getting triggered with anything they do. Remember the infamous Bts sajaegi accusations until their company need to go to court? That's one of the extreme example of this case. Mostly, they just trying to create the dramas online or something to make the group get cancelled.

That's one thing kpop stans never learn or realize. If you don't want any groups to succeed or surpassing your faves just don't talk about them. Don't attack the group. Armys and Blinks literally become the strongest, biggest, loudest and also toxic because of this. But who cares, look where both of this group stand right now, on the very top.

I'm not active in Twitter for now so idk who's their target and punchinb bag there right now. But whoever they are, congratulations for them because they already made it.

  • Being the dominant brand name is a force that cannot be ignored, drawing in everyone's attention. Kpop fans, with their penchant for drama, excel at generating buzz and propelling artists to new heights. The quest for an bg ver that can rival the same level of impact is still ongoing. They are likely hidden somewhere in the shadows, waiting to be discovered.

  • is not only the hate

    it is the numbers.

Many saying youtube is dead but the numbers on yt are huge difference betwen mega groups and famous groups. Also Instagram followers.

Cos everyone sais that YG bought YT views for BP, but then why didn`t they bought them too for Treasure. Numbers don`t add like that. There are huge fandoms behind them. You can hype all you want, and yes, hate can make their fandoms to fight harder, but still people have to like what they stan. Exo had a huge toxic fandom too. Exo-Ls were pushing Exo to the top, but then a lot of scandalls divided the group and Exo couldn`t stan so much preasure.

Today many talk about Armys vs Blinks, but back then it was Exo-Ls against Armys.

Competition can be toxic most of the time, but also push a group beyond. Blinks and Armys push each other to see who has more views in 1 hour, 24 hours, a week, still today. And that is also the power of the fandoms, not haters

    OT4 BLINKS OR JAIL

  • I’ve been a K-pop fan since 2009

    If I remember correctly,

2ne1 vs Snsd vs Kara vs wonder girls vs t-ara

    Winner: SNSD

    Big bang vs Super junior

    Winner: Big Bang

A pink vs AOA vs girls day

    Winner: A pink

    Exo vs BTS

    Winner: BTS

TWICE vs gfriend vs black pink

    Winner: black pink & Twice

    Aespa vs Itzy

    Winner: Aespa

Now it’s IVE vs NJ vs GIDLE vs Aespa vs LSFM

honestly I have never seen K-pop groups as big as BTS, black pink and twice and I’ve been a fan since 2nd gen. Big bang and SNSD were huge in Asia but I don’t remember them having as much clout globally as BTS & black pink.

The funny thing is no one predicted BTS to become bigger than EXO. Nor black pink being bigger than twice, however twice is still bigger than 99% of K-pop groups.

What I’m saying is, there were a lot of K-pop groups that had their moments of being hot and everyone thought they’d be global only for another group to snatch that title. You really can’t tell. Like everyone thinks it’s IVE vs NJ right now, but in 3 year GIDLE is the biggest group globally among 4th gen. I’ve seen this play out so many time.

Right now I can’t exactly tell who will be on BTS & blackpinks level. Maybe New jeans and stray kids for right now.

  • Based on this, the next big thing will be Stray Kids, NJ and IVE

And they're already showing they are well up there as popular groups

There's no prediction when they are already a big thing lol Prediction would see Strays Kids as the next big thing pre god's menu era. For NJ and Ive they hit big at debut, but Ive debut wasn't as explosive as Newjeans, so maybe I consider as a prediction the ones who saw Ive as the next big thing in Eleven era (still, their success at debut and Wony as a it girl made it kinda predictable, the Eleven concept photos was the only time they were doubted)

  • Imo, Bigbang is bigger than Twice, but not bigger than Blackpink let alone BTS. The question with Bigbang is their career is almost non-existent since 2016 due to many infamous scandals and long hiatus. Still they released a ballad last year with one promotion whatsoever and it destroyed anything Twice released in Korea since 2018

They still have over 3 million monthly listeners based on legacy alone (again, not a single true release since 2016) and their concert venues were absolutely insane

They have reached the top 20 on Spotify global chart with Still Life. If this was a banger rest assured it was going to be the biggest Boygroup song of 2022, bar BTS releases of course

Random comparison but I'm not disagreeing with you. Twice is still bigger, more well known and impactful than damn near all kpop groups besides a few.
