Overall yes!! They made a big gap internationally especially with OMG era. Get Up! era already looking iconic so expect another huge wave.

Looking over their comeback strategy, 6 new songs each having a MV of their own, 3 title tracks, this is really hard to beat. The future is looking bright for them if they aren't already top now, it's looking likely in the coming months.

In Korea, NJ are viral. No one else is. Everyone knows that Ive is payola even the Koreans, that is why Koreans are unanimously saying they are #1, and they are getting all the major CFs and luxury brands.

Its a different story globally. Globally its BP and Twice by 100s of miles because of their concerts, but in Korea NJ are #1 by a mile.

Maybe, in their home market it's them or Ive from ooking atthe outside, I dont really keep up. Internationally they had a lot more playlisting and spotify push than their contemporaries. I can't say others like Ive, Aespa wouldn't have reached that level too with the similar insane playlisting reach they had over their 4th generation counter parts. Even on that level though Fifty Fifty has made all that seem rather pedestrian.

I think a few months ago I would have thought Ditto and OMG would have been on top in that regard for maybe the whole generation considering even with the push they were still fairy well known track, but next to Cupid they are a whole league below.

4th generation is very competitive.

for fourth gen overall, definitely cause they edge out in CFs, global digitals and global spotify streams.

OMG sold the same as Unforgiven and the last Ive full album, outselling both in the next comeback is possible, OMG and their debut EP still selling a lot every month (OMG sold 100k last month, it was released in January). NJ fandom is growing fast

Not really proving any point. Paid playlisting isn't only used to inflate streams or that false narrative pushed incorrectly by K-pop stans. It's also used to promote and push a group to new audiences and push them to more recommended list, grow monthly listeners and hopefully promote the rest of the groups music.

I think HYBE used playlisting push well for NJ in the sense that it promoted their group and consistent sound well to grow their brand and appeal to a much wider audience than others usually can. Which is why when the bulk of the playlisting and high playlist placement wore off the songs fell only a bit and didn't drop off a cliff.

I think absent the ability for those other songs to achieve high positions on playlist like TTH and recieve that level of promo we can't rightly compare the results.

I also think you can't just look at the blanket number without a deeper analysis of the actual real world meaning behind those numbers. I mean whats worth more a position of 40-50 on a playlist with 10m followers or a position in the top 10 on a playlist with 2-3 million followers. Absent the deeper analytics those numbers will only provide a part of the conversation.

I'm not saying they will all have a similar result, look at Cupid has stolen every bit of attention Ditto had and no one would say it isn't by miles the K-pop of the year, arguably the biggest since Gangnam Style with only Dynamite as a question. But of sourse their other songs haven't really picked up so who knows? Perhaps with or without the same level of playlisting push things would have turned out exactly the same.
