Do you think twice is really popular in USA?

They surely have bog fandom in USA so that wasn't impossible

they have big fandom there but they arent charting on any single chart

nah they don't chart that well but they do have a decent fanbase hence the album sales as others said kpop is a niche but for girl groups bp is the most known here.

Kpop in general is just small in US but Twice is big relatively speaking. Most kpop fans in the US, however small or big, will likely still know or have heard of Twice.

Yes, Twice is the biggest gg in the US.

If you ask any kpop fan they’ll like twice here. And that’s a significant enough audience for them to be successful.

Selling over 150k units in the first week and playing in arenas and stadiums in one country is definitely being successful.

You don't need to have Taylor Swift, Drake or Justin Bieber level of mainstream recognition to be successful, music in the US is made of multiple niches and there a lot of big artists in each niche.

They're doing well in the US

album sales are weirdly increasing when digitally every group has decreased. That's weird so we'll have to wait and see if it's just increased/improved distribution by companies. These kpop companies will do anything to find a metric they can get bigger numbers to mediaplay we've seen this time and time again. Kpop is not popular in US that's why hybe is desperately doing takeovers everywhere and in US. Overall, the numbers game is really turning into a farce so i'm not interested in anything other than streaming performance these days.

Nah, the only kpop group most US citizens know of is BTS. TWICE and BP are popular but mostly amongst those who actively engage in pop culture. You don't even need to be involved in pop culture to at least know of BTS.

The more they appear on TV shows like Kelly Clarkson they more people will fall in love with them.

Also I don't put much stock in streaming numbers, it's such an easily exploitable system and means nothing.

like these 3 ARE the k-pop reps. in the US but Twice & BP aren't on BTS level fame in the US but they're close altho all 3 are famous in the US (trust me i live in the US; LA to be specific)

my uncle who's mexican knows ab BTS and he doesn't know k-pop AT ALL. i learned this when i told him i was going to see a k-pop bg ( Stray Kids ) and he was like "vas a ir a ver los tal BTS ?"(translation: ah you're going to see those BTS?) and i was like noooo. and i explained to him

even my father's co-workers know ab BTS & so do my classmates who do not know ab BTS

even a few years ago, if i told someone i liked kpop they would immediately ask me if i liked bts. my little 13 yr old niece was talking about bts with her friends, my 60 something year old mother in law loves them, they're legitimately mainstream in ways that no other kpop has managed so far

Well, I would argue that Twice has 2 different world tours since pandemic.

They have the biggest gg fandom in the US obviously Not GP popular, but big fandom.

Funny how certain fandom is trying to make it seem like both are on the same level lol

when we all know that other than bts, it's bp the other kpop group people acknowledge here despite kpop being a niche.

Bp didn't have much time for tracking hence why their album sales fell short, congrats to onces that had that achievement but it doesn't translate as popularity in thew US just having a decent fanbase I'll give them that.
