there is akage saying shit as always but that is not what op is referring.
Army & Once having an essay competition about Jennie is apparently having western infatuation & downgrading Asian because she said kpop idols have their freedom restricted.

International fans asking "there is something off with Korean culture & habit"
It's just their culture, like British people with tea.
As for drugs.. it will always viewed negatively in Asian countries.
As for Korean shows being loud... again it is just their type of comedy like American with stand-up or British with dry humor.
eh. This record doesn’t make up for inflation
The kpop act probably still true with inflation accounted, SNSD had 7 tours between 2009-2016 and at most inflation adjustment of the highest grossing tours of those years is about 50-110m than the official reports, so they are likely at 230-240m, but BP still have 20 dates that gross over 1m at least each one so the gap still enough for them to be #1 for kpop ggs.
The one of the century is more tiring for me to go and check, since with SNSD is easier to get the numbers of tours and the amount of years are less than to check for the other 2 western ggs. With LM is pretty given since that they are a 2010s act and also are similar in numbers as SNSD
No, even if we assume all SNSD tours happens in 2009 (which is not), their overall revenue would still be only $167M. So BP already surpassed them.
As for Spice Girls, they have 2 tours this century in 2007-2008 ($70.1M // $102.6M adj.) & 2019 ($78.2M // $92.8M adj.) so their adjusted for inflation total this century is around $195.4M.
For The Chicks:
2000, $47.3M > $83.3M
2003, $64.2M > $105.8M
2006, $32.1M > $48.3M
2013, $6.5M > $8.5M
2016-17, $58.5M > $73.9M
2022-23, $28M (ongoing) + $35.2M (expected)
Total adjusted for inflation: $347.8M ($383M)
Lastly for BP, they still have around $145M (expected) revenue from the rest of Born Pink Tour. So around $376M. So, The Chicks will be #1 when adjusted to inflation.
If she is the only one then it is more accurate to say that she is the only idol that looks like an AI generated avatar.
Years ago when Stray Kids wasn't as big as they are now and didn't even reach that many people, he already personally apologize for things that Knetz didnt mention (and would never do, since they don't care about these issues at all) and never did again. So, in my opinion, your assumptions about his intentions are baseless.
Well I assume this issue got into him when backlash news about him started trending on Naver. Unless he is going around lurking on pann, theqoo or twitter he will never heard about his fans attacking IVE since that issue isn't even getting any article on Naver. Also if he is indeed lurking on pann, theqoo or twitter he can address this issue quicker but he didn't.
And he deserves an apologize from K-pop stans for this misplaced anger as he received the vilest type of accusations including being called a predator.
Well i didn't see those. Since this is a response because the backlash he got from Korea, i am basing my scope to Korean news article, forums and twitter. All i can see is people calling him greetings maniac, foreigner with strange views of senior-junior relationship & school bullying in his group. If you saw several people calling him predator in twitter (tweet with minimum engagement) then you can find anything on twitter.
He apologize because the whole Korean k-pop community (not just IVE fans) eat him up not because he sees the damage to IVE.
Let's be real, they are already renew their contact. Did the members even want to leave YG? I haven't seen them complain about YG

"K-Pop concert is too much"... The reason Blackpink fans are angry in Thailand
While K-pop is enjoying great popularity in Thailand, the center of the Korean Wave in Southeast Asia, some fans are continuously raising complaints such as "K-pop concerts are too much" and "Does the ticket price make sense?"
According to local media MGR Online on the 3rd (local time), the average price for K-pop concert tickets sold in Thailand this year is around 5270 baht (208,000 won).
This is a 17.9% increase from 4470 baht (176,000 won) in 2019, before the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). Compared to the average price of 3,302 baht (130,000 won) in 2013, 10 years ago, it soared by 59.6%.
Even in the past, the most expensive ticket for a K-pop concert was 6,000 baht, and the cheapest ticket was around 1,050 baht. However, the media explains that fans are complaining that the price is too high now and the benefits are insignificant.
The VIP ticket price for the famous girl group BLACKPINK's concert to be held on the 27th and 28th at Rajamangala National Stadium, the largest concert hall in Thailand, became a hot topic when it was known that the price was 14,800 baht (583,000 won).
The media reported that some fans even went to Thailand Consumer Protection Agency because of the burden of the concert price.
The fan club of JYP Entertainment's boy group Stray Kids, who performed in Bangkok in February of this year, raised a problem with the Consumer Protection Agency in October of last year. At the time, the most expensive ticket for the performance was 8,500 baht (335,000 won).
According to the media, the Consumer Protection Agency called concert ticket vendors and discussed ways to protect consumers, but the government said it could not regulate prices.
The Consumer Protection Agency said, "Currently, there is no law to control the price of concert tickets," and "the price is determined by agreement between the seller and the consumer."
Regarding the reason for the rise in ticket prices, industry analysts say that 70% of the concert cost was covered by sponsors 10 years ago, but as this ratio has decreased to less than 30%, ticket prices have risen.
Stray kidz fans submit a fomal complaint, proceed to use BP in the title... Korean journalist never disappoint.
It is true that k-pop concert price become hot topic in Thailand but Blackpink is not on those discussion excluded as most people in Thailand comparing their price with other global artist. Also ticket price that most people talk about are not VIP packages (as those are only a few) they are talking about the price of good seats.

2007 - 2016 Wonder Girls
2009 - 2015, 2022 SNSD
it was all "protect minors" and "let them do age-appropriat gigs" until those minors started to make real big moves
tbh, this incident hurt Danielle so hard. HYBE greed know no bounds. Koreans are convinced she got the role through HYBE nepotism. It already spread from just pronunciation into her singing skill & lack of emotion. It even open the door for hater to start igniting payola accusation into Korean radar.
At first Korean eating her on pronunciation then compilation of KR/JP/ENG version started getting around which makes the criticism grow into her singing skills & lack of emotion. Those Koreans tweets get thousands of RT also multiple hit threads on forum like theqoo. Tomorrow we will probably start to see news article about it trending on Naver.
if you collect a few tweet with a few engagement as hate train then you can call anything on earth have hate train. Those tweet are just people fighting on Twitter. This case is those unique one where it become huge controversy in Korea yet no noise in global k-pop community.
HYBE setting her up real hard.
Koreans already eating her alive for pronunciation, singing ability & lack of emotion in song and dialog.
Korean twitter is on fire right now. They are already convinced HYBE got her the role.
Companies & their greed... Did something like this need to happened first before they wake up??
International fans poyola accusations started gaining some credibility in Korean entertainment space. HYBE doing damage to NewJeans.
Only commenting because i see some stupid theory that k-pop fans often used.
YT is not shadow banning anyone, their business model is getting more traffic so they can sell ads therefore there is no way they did something to hurt their money. If you want to say that they are filtering views for the purpose of YT chart, then it is true... but what is so controversial about filtering ads & suspect views when it comes to making a chart? It was the right thing to do.
