Does Aespa still have a chance to lead their generation?

i personally don't think so, saying this because if we talk about overall success, not just domestic. They should focus in korea and other parts of asia, because even if they don't do well digitally, they will have a strong fandom to fall back on.

They'll have to have better comebacks if they do imo.

Looking at HYBE with NewJeans, it seems like the creative direction, their aesthetic, and simple music is what's gonna have them blow up, like they already are.

So in my opinion in terms of overall success, NewJeans is gonna be the number 1.

I see them being the 4th generations BlackPink.

They already the second girl group since BlackPink to chart multiple songs on the Billboard Hot 100, they have 19.4 Million monthly listeners about to hit 20 Million, the members are individual brand ambassadors for the biggest brands you can think of and as a group.

They will most likely finish in the top five ggs, but leading the gen is difficult to predict. They do not have the international stats like NJ, IVE, or LSF. We also have Baemon, I-land 2 gg debuts incoming so more competition.

I agree it's been a whirlwind the last 7 months. Heading into the Girls comeback, it looked like Aespa was at the top of the list when it came to 4th gen ggs. Then IVE had their successful year. And then NewJeans. It's insane how quick the landscape changed within a few months. We'll see what happens with this next comeback. Baemon is coming to cause even more chaos to the list. I can see GIDLE challenging but I think they have the least chance. They'll still be a top group though.

The digitals hits will come and go for GG all of them will have flops and hits this isn’t like BGs. The fandom is what will decide who is #1 in the end.

Mind you, SNSD were selling 200k + while 2NE1 best was 100k. So relatively, it is similar.

Other ggs are selling millions too now and newjeans Ive already have more hits domestically and overseas their songs set fastest Spotify records. Nl is their only true massive hit in Korea and overseas. Others are moderate small hits at best. Only sm fans think they are leaders

I don’t think so. The competition is too big and it feels like they’re not even trying. As a fan obviously I wish they’re the most successful…etc but this could better because K-pop fans nitpick everything about them now; can’t imagine what they would do if they were the biggest.

Why comment on aespa albums being cheap and inflated when all their peers have the same prices/cheaper. Hell just go to ktown now and compare aespa album to the other gg. Why is it always a problem for aespa?

Thanjs for correcting me. I read on anons thread. So i thought that way. Anyways they have so many less albums. And their album has more songs too compared to omg And afterlike which are single albums. So my point stays. And above aespa fan was shading newjeans sales, when they have best selling debut album as well as fastest group in history to have million seller. Their debut will also become million seller by end of year. Aespa don't even have comebacks , so obviously their fans inflate it by saving a lot on less releases. Nj have same amount of albums already in first six months whereas I've has more. They have sales as well as hits. Aespa still lags overall behind those two

And their fans were very brave after next level. Only one major hit in career. Whereas other two have sales as well as hits

if they release smth like "girls" again heck no, but illusion-kinda and BM or NL kinda songs would rock, they still have big fandom

For overall leader, IF they can score 3-4 consecutive big domestic hits like IVE and NJ AND score multiple BB hot 100 hits or global hits at the same time. It is possible. Otherwise, IVE and NJ certainly has edge in the domestic and global digitals.

They will not have the biggest peak but the best longevity I’m sure

I agree. SM groups longevity is very good. I think longevity is more important.

NO. Hybe groups (Newjeans and Lesse...) are more creative and more risky in their concept. I think one of this is going to lead in the next years (If t hey are not do it already)

SM old management has been busy building Kwangya Brand Image in expense of aespa. They have strong fandom but unfortunately lack of promo & contents after their successful year. Only 13 song for 3 years (very minimal efforts for SM standards)

The good news is SM will undergo major changes in their higher ups managements and music production. Since aespa take too long to comeback, I think ae1 music direction & promotional contents will be a hint where's the new SM priorities lies. Let's see.

If their new song this time charts higher than ditto, yes.

They are going to be one of the top groups but not the number one. They will be fine. aespa is a very successful group.

Not aespa fans acting like they will lead sales forever when they have time to build more fandom than others and others have become million sellers ttoo despite debuting much later.

gg competition is really hard now, i don't think there's going to be one clear #1 gg and they will keep interchanging positions
