Which 4th gen group do you feel has the biggest impact this year: Ive vs NewJeans vs Stray Kids vs Le sserafim?

Ehh, I'm going to have to pick New Jeans. Has anyone done what they've done?

Dropped three debut songs at once with minimal or no teasers that smashed. Completely unknown members. Followed up with another smash. All within the last 4 months. I feel like if you take the word impact, then they've epitomized it.

Ive have had a phenomenal year but it doesn't seem like anything New, pardon the pun.

(G)I-DLE and Stray Kids.

They smashed this year and did it all with their own self-made songs and identity. The took on the piggy banks of the other groups to buy their songs and ideas with their own stuff - and held their ground.

NewJeans by far.

New Jeans. They brought sth new to the table by reviving the 90s pop which makes the scene saturated with gc change a bit. IVE style and songs is similar to izone so it isn’t really different. Le sserafim really changed the landscape for gg performances.

In short, new jeans and le sserafim.

NJ. Especially after the ditto release. Both ive and NJ are digimons in SK, so nothing to separate here. But when it comes to international popularity, NJ numbers are ridiculous. Yes, they might have only placed in top 20 of Spotify global. But their streaming numbers are massive. And they have the highest monthly listeners among 4th gen groups. They would've easily debuted on top 10 if they didn't release in Christmas season.

Overall IVE made the biggest impact, but for me what New Jeans and Le Sserafim did was more unique and iconic. So in my heart they win while I still respect and like IVE.

And why are we putting a 2018 group that started out as a reality show in 2017 in this poll? SKZ has 4-5 years of exposure with time to build their fanbase. So while their achievements are great, comparing them to IVE, newjeans and Les serafim (all with less than a year of debut) is kinda weird.

Stray Kids and Ive.

Ive really impressed me to hang on for hit after hit despite some really strong competition. They really feel like Twice 2.0. And while yes, they come from Kakao, they didn't - to me as someone who didn't follow gg that closely - seem to have the long-term hype that both Le Sserafim and New Jeans had. Even in my corner of the web I'd heard people talking and hyping Ador and the new Hybe gg for a few years before debut.

Stray Kids were successful by not following the standard path - they're more popular in Korea than people give them credit for but they've mostly powered to the charts on the back of international support vs Korean support, which makes them a game changer. Their success comes without Korea and they made it without changing their style (yes some of the songs on Maxident feel softer but overall their #1 albums came with the type of "noise music" they've always been known for). And they are strong in both physicals AND digitals, which makes them different from their peers.

IVE, three back to back hits each with a distinct sound, 3 million albums sold, not from a big 4 company, insane popularity in Japan, doing great globally, 4th gen it girl, Second girl group member to cover vogue japan after Lisa, second girl group to cover vogue korea after blackpink.

IVE literally broke the produce curse, eleven was already breaking international records for 4th gen, they released their debut single at the worst month possible snatched a top 3 then dives were pissed because they were releasing the same day as BB, they got blocked for 3 months then they topped the chart.

LD exceeded all the expectations they just needed to their cb get big which AL did.

So it funny to me how people are saying their success is nothing special because the previous GG did. 4th gen started like 4-5 years ago and no 4th gen groups until IVE and NJ bagged 3 back to back hits but sure Jan.
