As far I know is that people keep underestimating Gidle and I don’t stan them.
They wenf from 200k sales to 800k sales in one cb but their sales are ahead of other GG while next year they will easily sell 1M albums lol.
Aespa was the top leaders last year because they had one great year but Gidle ain’t top 3 while they have the second biggest hit of the year and even NXDE is holding well
But when you consider Spotify lists like that you have to consider the fact that certain groups have bigger discographies which equates to being more streamed. GIDLE & ITZY are top10 but in no way are they bigger than IVE for example right now when comparing the streams of their respective comebacks this year.
Eh, SKZ had a smaller disco than many of the groups it's ahead of not only in the yearly list, but the overall list, and fewer years to stream and the same is true of TXT. Lisa had three songs and is still more streamed than Ive, Le Sserafim and NewJeans.
But for me, what I'm trying to get after is that if you're going to claim top of the generation, it's not one great year but a sustained strength in the marketplace, particularly in what seems to be the very volatile changes in "leaders" of the generation. If groups can't lock that portion in yet, then - to me - they can't shout about being the X generation leader.
I'm considering the longevity and how the group might perform in the long term. People can say that Twice or Itzy or whoever are declining, but until one of these groups actually laps them, it's still an open race. GIDLE and Itzy have been pretty consistently in the top 10 streamed groups for the last two or three years that I've been watching. It's great that a group is having a great year and it's entirely possible that someone will put out this post in a year's time, but I do think that until the stability is there, it's anyone's game and anyone could have a blockbuster year. No one was finished this yet.
aespa having the most sales out of them all. For that reason alone, i think aespa will be fine. They likely will be the type that outlast other groups once their hype die down.
For now, GIDLE, IVE and NEWJEANS seems to be the most relevant with GP but we will see how Aespa does next. Because this year, all Big 3 groups underperformed, and aespa is not exclusion either.

Korea seems to even warm up to Giselle, there's a lot of post who were getting attention lately
The girls still have a lot of attention from Koreans and they are getting tons of brand deal which show that they are still consider as valuable people in the industry
+ The fact that a Bside is charting better than a lot of the 2022 "hits" on gaon digital prove that korean still enjoy a lot Aespa songs and illusion success prove that they are indeed interest in their songs because to chart a bside so well you need it
SM just need to manage them better, let them be more active on social media, give them the chance to do solo activities, go on different variety show
And also give them more time to promote their comeback stop with the 1 week promotion it's useless and it doesn't work
I hope that the fact that they let the girls use more often tik tok and do instagram live + their first reality show is a first step in a better management
Also girls didn't flop like people try to make it sound, it didn't do as well than savage and Next level obviously but it charted in the top 10 for weeks and they even were able to chart a bside in the top 20
Their sales are still above any other 4th GG
So i don't really understand why some people already act like they are a massive flop this year
