I'm sure you are all aware that there are certain places of this forum that users go to post veiled bashes. Many times only the targeted individuals and fandoms fully understand the nuances in what has been said and that has repeatedly led to some very unfortunate and truly regrettable shit shows.
In the spirit of starting the New Year right, we've already started cleaning house by merging the KPOP section. We are going to continue learning from our mistakes and so we are announcing that both anons and the "Post your random thoughts" thread will be going the way of the dinosaur. And if I had my way there'd be a wrecking ball followed by fireworks.
In the end, these sections have caused a lot of strife for both users, who may see attacks and assume it is about them whether it is or not, and staff, who don't always understand the shade and are then blamed for letting it "pass". All this just led to more people to either accusing others when no ill intention was meant or just plain seething. This will hopefully be a welcome announcement in light of this. The threads will be first closed so people have some time to read this announcement and erased entirely a day after.
