I don't believe a single minute what these news outlets are saying when stuff like this happen it's so easy to spread false information so far Sm is proceeding with their plans just like they planed them and according to Hybe they won't be involved in Sm planing

I don't believe the news stories either, they're all just looking for clickbait.

But didn't hybe just release a whole bunch of stuff on how they ARE going to be involved in SM's planning and how they plan to change things for SM's artists. Aka that their statement that SM will remain autonomous was bs because hybe are going to put their sticky beaks in it and change things to what they know (focusing on America).

Hybe hasn't been able to get into the boardroom yet because of all the red tape around it so far, that's why SM is continuing as planned.

Who knows what's going to happen really. Every news site is giving their 10cents and it's getting very convoluted. They're all saying conflicting things. I wouldn't be surprised if SM has to delay stuff but I also wouldn't really believe the reports. Everyone wants that clickbait lol.

I think we will get an EXO album. I wouldn't be surprised if they're already in the process of creating it. Just depends on if it will come out before or after Kai/Sehun enlist. (I picked April for their CB so before but now it might be delayed)

I don't think Kai's album would have been announced today. He only recently filmed the music video so there's all the post production and finalisation that needs to be completed before it is ready to be released. Nothing worse than announcing an album then having to delay or cancel it because it's not ready yet. Or rushing it and it's not up to standard lol. :teeheek:

Reverse psychology works so well. I knew if I said it wouldn't happen then it would be announced! It happens so often. :teeheek:

2 years can be a long time in the entertainment industry so there are always concerns that fans will move on without regular content from their faves. Then when they come back they might not be able to attract those fans back. From what I recall it's only recently that members have started releasing content while they're enlisted to keep fans entertained.

Plus during the enlistment period members have more time to focus on solo activities that can often be hindered by group activities.

So enlisting together is always a discussion, but enlisting separately has more benefits.

Oh, yea, there were a bajillion threads about this that got merged into the megathread if it talked at all about the actual merger, even if individual posts were doom and gloom. If the actual thread was started to talk about an individual reaction, I think it got left alone. How many threads did you merge alexS ? 52 or something? LMAO Anyway, it was A LOT

    Short story: it's been WILD.

I didn't know there was a megathread lol. See, this is what happens when you don't visit akp regularly.

Pretty much everywhere else it's either a non discussion or just people casually talking about it like it's just a recent event lol. That's why I'm laughing so much at the responses. Like no one else is treating it like the sky is falling. I guess AKP is just containing all the issues and the world outside is treating it differently.

Well that's good, cause they are making threads about it - that sounds pretty stressed out, all doom and gloom to me! But hey, all I'm trying to do is tell them to put things in perspective - nothing has been decided regarding any music changes yet. Save the doom and gloom if and when that happens perhaps?

I don't know who the "they" is. I guess I am missing a lot of threads lol. Discussing recent events or expressing concerns of the unknown doesn't always mean stressed out though. It's pretty normal to discuss recent events the good and the bad of it. it's just entertaining to see people making a big deal where there wasn't one.

Like I said, change is inevitable. It's going to happen. Whether it's a big change or a small change remains to be seen but expecting everything to be the same after all this is a bit naive. Discussing the potentials is just something that people do. (I would insert a shrug gif here but my internet's not working so well at the moment lol)

all the rumors (supposedly anonymous SM staff posting on knet) say all of SM's contents are indefinitely delayed because of this corporate battle behind the scenes; there could be no SM music at all in March at this rate. If EXO doesn't happen this year idk what I'm going to do. I hate LSM with every fiber of my being.

That Key's repackage came and went and literally nothing is currently slated for SM (I don't count Label SJ because they have their own staff and don't communicate with SM really), is deeply worrying for me. I think Kai's album would have been announced today if it weren't for this HYBE insanity.

It's funny how this thread started with one person voicing an opinion and then a whole bunch of people coming in and blowing that opinion out of proportion. :teeheek:

Things are going to inevitably change in SM whether Kakao or Hybe become the bigger shareholders so it's expected that the people who enjoy some SM music will be concerned over what the change will be. Until it's all settled and everything it's normal to voice concerns.

Most of the people I know who have voiced concerns know that they have no say/choice/input whatever into the changes but that doesn't mean they're acting like the sky is falling. <shrug>

There is more to the company than just a CEO. More people involved in creating music than just the artists (even those who self produce have input from other people, credited or not). It's not giving 100% credit to one person, it's acknowledging the many people who go into creating music and with Hybe stating they want to streamline some things, realising that changes are going to be inevitable...

Edit 1: Hey? What happened to the quote?

Edit 2: for some reason AKP won't let me quote...

This does have the echoes of a family dispute getting out of hand and the company becoming collateral. LSM's jump to Hybe after the Kakao deal was announced seemed like a kneejerk reaction since a lot of people are have stated he would likely win his injunction and stopped the deal anyway.

It's starting to seem like LSM cut off his nose to spite his face. He wanted to screw over his nephew and ended up screwing himself and likely many employees of SM in the process.

Honestly this is just starting to sound like a whole bunch of media play. One minute he's staying, the next he's going. One minute the majority of SM staff prefer Kakao, the next they prefer Hybe. It really just seems like the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing but they're both trying to make themselves look good.

I would hate to be an SM staff member or artist right now. This looks like it's going to get a lot messier before it gets better and things may end up getting cancelled or delayed in the upheaval while they're trying to figure out who's in charge and what's going on.

Because I've seen people saying the nephew's contract is apparently up in March and he may be ousted as well.
