RE: Are there any other girl groups who are as passionate about music as G(I)dle?

Interesting topic. I agree with OP and would add Mamamoo too. Even if only 80% are passionate that's still more than enough to see that they love and breathe music. It also helps that they have fewer members too. So if one is interested in acting or cfs, it won't throw off the balance. Never heard of Rolling Quartz to judge. Are they a kpop group?

Edit: Adding Dreamcatcher because they debuted TWICE and are now seeing the fruits of their labor. If that doesn't scream passion, then nothing else will.

I like G-idle. They are cool and definitively stand out even with live performances. Not that it answers the question, but I wanted to say it.

Yet another question begging for confirmation about the uniqueness of their faves. Standard Kpop fan stuff.

If answers are provided, more and more additional conditions will be tacked on..

But anyway, let me add as my contribution. Brown Eyed Girls and EXID also had members who were song-writers/composers/producers. Think After School also - Bekah/Kahi have credits.

Larger, established companies would prefer not to let idols into the backroom. But many smaller agencies will be glad to save costs by going that route.

Cube-GIDLE is somewhat unique, not really a struggling company, just that Soyeon was tired of waiting around and took the initiative and the company let her run with it, then others also participated.

But that by no means there are not other girl groups with members passionate about music, besides is there any quantitative measurement for 'as passionate' ?

Even in 4th gen, Weeekly, LSF have members with song credits.

BTS probably has every member participating. Stray kids has close to every member or every member also doing music. GOT7 I believe its the same.Maybe Winner ? Big Bang in the past when they were releasing music more consistently.

Idle are the first female group where their entire albums, back to back, for years now are all composed by members, with above 80% of those being primary. Hell they even have primary arrangement credits.

Don't care which way you slice it, but that's utterly unique. Even Exid, with the fantastic LE, were mainly primary composed by S Tiger and LE was secondary.

Not to take away from all those other groups or people who contribute. But every time some-one brings up Idle's self-producing aspect, people immediately try to minimize the outsize contribution they make in regards to all other examples previously, just like you did.

While I appreciate 'creative' artists with songwriting/composing credits. It is foolish to set that as a criteria for "passionate about music", because they could very well focus on "singing" as their passion, than composing or writing.

Passion for music is something hard to measure. What really sets gidle apart is rather their level of involvement in the songwriting process.

I don't know how to measure passion for music. I mean, I can say If members of a group I like seem passionate about music, but I can't tell If It's more or less than someone else. I can't determine subjective thoughts/feelings.

Then the post should have been about "extent of self-producing" and not "passion about music", as though it is necessary to self-produce to be passionate about music.

GIDLE is wonderful, but the ability to highlight their achievement should be specific and not shade others.

If it asks "are there other groups", then it is poorly phrased.

Instead "GIDLE are so passionate about music, all members are involved in composing/lyrics/production" will not cause such responses.
