Aespa is doing well and you unnecessarily went and downplay 3 kpop groups? This is one of the negative stereotypes about kpop fans - can’t celebrate their faves without putting down others

Bc probably their faves aren't that good as they say and they need a "weak" group to compare and say "see? My fave is better" and not "wow, my fave is talented on their own!".. A kpop mentality for sure

people don't care. Lots of western popular artists are not really good singers.

It's just kpop fans being negative and pointing fingers at themselves most of the time
-
those have been found choking up their own words and now all are in ICU

Not like most of the other performers in Coachella have good vocals anyways.

but you know how kpop fans are, they have no qualms about propagating and supporting attitudes that are xenophobic and racist in nature against kpop, just to single their faves out.

I mean many kpop stans are xenophobic and racist. Like just cause you like kimchi and BTS doesn’t mean you actually like Koreans. If anything they’re just romanticizing a country on the bare level surface.

At this point the ones who decided to hate aespa will always hate them lol Before they were sure aespa would lipsync, after they started to talk about crowd and some are even pretending that their live vocals weren't impressive because they had some shaky moments (well, the fake lives kpop groups do are the culprit, people really think it's the norm to sound perfect while you're dancing)
I'm just happy for them, their performance was divine

Problem is the group still have tier 2 songs and no songs yet that really is "the song". That don't mean it can come someday.
all of their songs are tier 1 bops
-
all of their songs are tier 1 bops
Is that honest thought among Aespa fans? Well, good for them in that case.....
I can see room for "improvments". -
for me, any other 4 gen gg could have done the same work. They have a decent performance with a backtrack. It was a Meh, but of course i am not a fan
and they still need to work on their stage, cos they acted like they were on an small stage form an award show.

I love the stage presence talk, they treat it like a objective factor

What do either of these points have to do with what OP said?

I love the stage presence talk, they treat it like a objective factor
People become experts in stage presence subject when in reality they aren't even there
actual people attending saying that their performance was fine

-
You should've tagged those who said that to make it interesting

The post was about the people who were saying that aespa was going to ruin K-pop with their performance. They did fine and go figure… Kpop didn’t implode.

You really fit your username. Lonely and angry lol

Stage presence will come with experience; remember, this was their first ever performance in front of an actual audience.

People are still unfortuently gonna hate on kpop regardless. It's honestly so pathetic, like imagine hating on a whole freaking music genre you barely know about repeatedly.
-

not just kpop mentality, literally all fandoms mentality.
You have no idea how many people I have heard dragging cricket teams in India lol.
-
The "reinforcing nevative stereotypes" has always been one of the dumbest statements anyways, imagine gatekeeping kpop groups from promoting on the west because in your arbitrary opinion they are bad performers, have bad songs, etc, etc.
Like what "K-pop stereotypes" are other groups exactly breaking to say such bullshit? Why do you think you have a say on who promotes on the US and who doesn't? Do they genuinely think the biggest concerns of random locals about K-pop are lipsyncing and dancing synchronized with sharp movements?

NGL i was very impressed with their ability to hit their notes. They did great overall. I loved hearing the best song of 2021 performed live, Next Level.
The problem for them is their songs arent meant for a venue like this. Outdoor venues are perfect for rock bands and acts that shout and scream a lot, or for songs that just make you want to dance, but Aespa's songs arent structured like this at all. They dont allow the members to really be expressive, they're just very closed off and restrained, i wish i could think of a better word to describe this vibe but i cant right now lol.
Ultimately it doesnt matter, Aespa will get new fans to listen to their songs because of this. And that's probably what LSM was aiming for anyway, all this praise/hate discourse does nothing but promote the brand.
