I imagine there are various reasons why she's more popular with women than men, one of them being women looking up to her but I think looks play a factor too, it's not a secret than korean/asian men like cute, next door type of girls like winter, suzy or IU. Another reason is karina (and giselle) got a mature personality and vibe that women could be more attracted to.

Also many Karina fangirls don't want to emulate her but date her lol but that's another story

Krystal is girl crush type like seulgi or ryujin and usually that type attracts to a lot of fangirls.

not surprised about IVE. Wonyoung is really loved among young adult to teen women because of her fashion in style. She is an it girl and lots of women admire her for her fashion and height like they would fashion models. All of IVE have a model run way vibe because they are all tall and pretty.

While male fans tend to skew toward like petite cute styles and are probably intimidated by girls taller than them.

I think most kpop fans are female. Male seem more diverse music wise so they have more competition from rock, techno or hiphop. So all new groups who are very successful will automatically have more female fans. The groups that have mostly male fandoms are all very small fandoms.

Brave girls is really obvious. Females don't serve the nation. The ratio for concert sales are even higher. If we get stats on the age, im sure brave girls will lead the ranking again.

Your forgetting JYP dropped the blind package for them in July last year and that sold 60k.

Itzy male fanbase is shocking , I didn’t expect it to be that high. They must have some hardcore male fans in Korea
