Idols you knew as actors before you knew them as singers?

iu! i watched scarlet heart ryeo before i was really into k-pop, i just thought she was a pretty actress. then i was shocked when i figured out she did music and was a massively successful idol lol

Seolhyun. I saw her in Orange Marmalade (one of few K-dramas I actually watched the whole way through), and I was bewitched by her beauty and angelic voice. I Googled her and found out she was in AOA, but I didn't actually listen to an AOA song until like a year or two later.

Looking back, her acting and the show were really bad, lol. But she was so pretty I kept watching.

Also, Suzy. I saw her on a show with Lee Seung Gi (who I liked because he was on My GF is a Gumiho with Shin Min Ah). I thought she was really pretty too, but I didn't finish the show because I didn't like the plot.

Nah. It was going back and forth. Basically trying to insinuate they were a "destined love" because they were reincarnated and looked exactly like that couple from the past.

Many, like Yoon Eun-hye, Seo Hyun-jin, but they stopped being singers since long and are purely actors.

I got into K-drama through Strong Girl, exploring Park Bo Young, landed on "The Story Only I didn't know" and initially thought Bo Young was the actress-singer and the other girl just another actress :)

I’m not into Kdrama that much so I mostly know Kpop idols before Actor/Actress. (Watching many variety shows also helps a lot). But I never know that these two were idols before (and even in SM!!!).

Girl's Day Yura. I remember being SO SHOCKED about how gorgeous and attractive she was that I had to search about her. Still one of the most beautiful idols I ever seen. The show was really shitty though, only watched til half of the second episode. I would watch something else with her if it was better. Eyecandy.
