there were also some other nice acts like weekly, lighsum or minimani.
furthermore i discovered laboum and oh my girl this year. they had been around earlier but not on my radar.

Great year. I discovered TXT, EXO, NCT, Purple Kiss, Billlie and other groups that I donโt stan but regularly listen. Iโm having fun this year. I hope next year will be good too.

Since we are such a rare species and you probably wont have another chance i will give you some intel.
i listen to the music since my korea holiday 2019. but there was nothing to get into it. t-ara, sistar, crayon pop, then kara or snsd... they all werent really active anymore. then momoland got messed up by their company befor i learned about them. the pinks also make good music but i expect them to do well without me.
I allways liked the inovation and development in kpop. But there was no group that could overcome my antipathy towards the industrialisation, ruthless competition and business focus of kpop.
So hearing about their story, Brave Girls is the first group i can relate to. Not being successful for years but still giving their best in every performance. going to the military for years, even if there is no publicity or money, just because its the only stage they can attend. I havent seen this dedication or sincerity towards music in kpop befor. There are many other great artists and they tell you a lot but i dont know if its real because its showbis and then the big companies with their army of managers who play the media and stuff. Brave Girls is the first one i feel is real. they couldnt hide anything when rollin happend and also didnt tried to, because untill that time they allready tried everthing they could but failed to achieve anything. So thats why after more then 20 years of listen to music for free i finally decided to give something back and get to know more about kpop besides the music.
not bad i guess, last year was better, but this year was definitely better than 2019(bc of the scandals). music wise, great, especially brave girls and stayc, they were great discoveries
for my faves, one large scandal that got sorted out neatly and responsibly, a little others here and there, outdid themselves, renewed their contracts, another year i was very happy supporting them, hopefully the rest of the year would stay the same!!can't believe 2021 is ending already

I would say overall good year
It's a good year, I'm so fed with many great music! 
A good year. Musically, there were a lot of songs I liked, and imo, kpop had way more bops than the American top 40. Even artists I normally don't pay much attention to released really good songs.
Scandal wise, there was no Burning Sun or the like, which is how I prefer things; even if you're super into gossip, those scandals represent real people who got hurt.
I'm pleased. And with all the good Christmas songs artists are releasing now, we're ending the year on a high note. I like it.
Good
My fave GG (Red Velvet) made a comeback after years and my fave rookie (aespa) found success after all the hate Black Mamba got, pretty good year for me. Besides that, I discovered Yeseo, Billlie made their debut with a good song, Weeekly comebacks were good as always, Brave Girls performances giving their all, ITZY and Aespa scrumbs, ITZY iconic performances.
As a gg stan I'm happy, Kep1er debut would be a good way to end my 2021, but now they're opening 2022
