I had no idea Ailee's sales were THIS bad

Ailee is more a digital focused than physical focused artist, and most soloists are like that, seems like album buying is more an idol group fan thing comparatively. Ailee I always thought made more money off of cfs than music like many do in the kpop industry if they can't depend on tours and album sales( from what I know digital sales don't make much money for the artist).

you must also think IU has a million sales?

btw ailee is hyped more by "talent stans" than for actual superhit songs

she's an amazing artist but need to be promoted better

anyways for OP- i stanned Ailee since "Heaven" and while she definitely did better physically back then- as Cosmicrhythm878 said, it was never about the physical copies.

also yeah her singing talent is fucking crazy- moreso than most idols.

The problem is expecting idol group type sales for a soloist. Idol group fans do 2 things most other fans don't do, 1) buy albums and then 2) mass buy said albums

First of all Album sales is for kids second ailée is talented but her music is all over the place she doesn't have a caracter or charm that make her spécial , no star quality noor song writing skills so nothing so that's why in my opinion sh will Never make it Big

I would say Ailee already made it big don't get this whole weird acting like she's some nugu in South Korea when she had a huge OST hit in 2017 which really wasn't that long ago. Plus considering her vocal skills, she can always sing a ballad and if the public likes it kill the charts though even some of her non ballad songs did well back in the day(I Will Show You, U & I, Don't Touch me), as examples. Sure she's not IU level big but who even is.

Her last album was amazing but no one f'ing talked about it

IU's last album sold almost 400k physical albums which alone would put her in top female artist category, never mind the digital and public dominance. and yes she has sold over a million total albums lol.

PURPLE KISS are actually good physical sellers lol their latest album sold like 40k last time I checked? If you wanted a better comparison use dreamnote or cignature idk

Damn he-who-must-not-be-named to avoid-ban(I know who is he is but I want to play it safe as well), people like him are scum of the earth. I personally think Ailee should have returned to USA when she heard Good Day around the time Wheesung hoodwinked her to work in Korea since that made sure there was someone she could not beat.

She was actually over IU back in Nov 2012 - Nov 2013, when something which should not be mentioned in akp occurred. That made her in the same playing field with Lee Jieun again, and Friday basically finished off Amy Lee.

As an Ailee fan, her physical sales were never really strong. Her last song Make Up Your Mind and this one Don't teach me are pretty good. They don't deserve to flop. Form 2012 to 2015, she used to do well in the charts then she also had some successful OST. She is not a nugu in Korea.
