I remember people here actually said concert only cost $5 - $20 here in SEA so it is not profitable to host concert here... If that user can find me a ticket that cost $20 I would be glad to pay for his air ticket and hotel to fly here and pass me an actual kpop concert ticket that show/cost that price...

Because many of us are from 3rd world countries so they think we’re too poor to support our favourite groups. We buy albums too and those streaming records contribute to giving our faves more publicity.

A lot of Westerners and East Asians think we’re ugly, dirty due to our skin tones, and uncivilized. It’s why I’m not surprised to see k-talk show hosts praising “blonde haired, blue-eyed girls” for being BTS fans despite there being other ARMYs standing right next to them consisting of different races, including SEAsians.

This is what I don’t get though. How can they call SEA fans poor when Singapore is literally one of the richest countries? I can admit though that SEA doesn’t have the biggest music markets out there but calling SEA fans poor is just not factual.

Probably because American fans think they're the center of the whole goddamm world. That's why they don't give a rat's ass about SEA fans. It's not even a race or class thing tbh. Just people with their heads far up their arses.

execs know this, so i would expect more sea kpop stars and activities in the future

kpop firms are businesses and money is more influential than racism for them

also, there are no fully white people in major kpop groups - this would not be the case if the racism/privilege claims are true

(btw, money often changed racial conventions in history - see books like 'Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast, and Italy, 1500-1800')

Preach!!! Here in the Philippines, concert tickets for Kpop groups such as BP go as high as $500-$1000 USD and it’s selling out. It hurts me that some fans think that SEA fans only stream songs. Hey, those streams also bring money to the group.

3rd gen has the most Thai idols, therefore 3rd gen has more SEA fans than previous gens. Antis that hate 3rd gen, hate SEA fans. Those that hate BP also hate SEA fans, most of BP fanbase are SEA and Chinese.

If that's the case, why sea fans still support Kpop

Some seems to forget that SEA has wealthy or middle-income countries too. And there are many fans willing to buy albums, concert tickets.
