Do you think you fit the stereotype of a kpop fan?

what are the stereotypes?
If you're a female kpop fan, you're a teenager with low self esteem issues and can't get a bf.
If you're a male kpop fan, you're a creepy man that can't get a gf.
Stereotypes for everyone:
-too sensitive, can't talk jokes or any form of criticism
-koreoboos
-only likes kpop because idols are attractive
There's lots of stereotypes out there but these are the ones I hear on a regular basis.

Probably not.
I have many favorites, but I'm not going to be on edge and on the lookout for criticism to fight and get mad about. There will always be antis. There will always be hate. Sometimes the people spreading hate are just looking for attention, perhaps because they have trauma in their own lives. They seek to spread misery as an unhealthy coping mechanism.
On a similar note, many K-pop fans can be overly defensive because they live through their favorites vicariously. It's not very different from sports fans who take things too far.
One thing I DEFINITELY don't do is care about charts and achievements. Charts and achievements make everything a lot worse. To this day, I haven't paid much attention to things like that because it's just so pointless. I'm not getting paid to look numbers as if I'm a data scientist or statistician.
I'm here for the music. These talented men and women won't be active forever. Might as well cherish them to the fullest.

Not at all

I care at some point about the hate my faves get so majority of the time I do"protect" them online knowing full well they will never see the fights kkkk
I'm not a teenager neither do I have traumas.
I'm pretty.
I'm intelligent enough to not make racist jokes (which is one of the main complaints people have against Kpop fans as racist jokes seem funny to them and it is still a popular thing )
I'm a chill/funny person irl and i have friends
I'm not obsessed with Kpop visuals as i have crushes of almost all nationalities kkkkkk

I fit the stereotype of an uncle fan. I'm old, straight, single, and male. It's been like a year since i went on a date (basically living like a hermit due to Covid), although i have one coming up soon wish me luck lol. I never watch BG content, only listen to their songs, while i binge watch GG content and stan GGs for their personalities/visuals/team chemistry and not even necessarily for their music.
I dont really follow charts though, dont really care about em, so that's good i guess.

The main stereotype is that kpop fans are obsessed teenage girls. I'm none of that lol, all opposite in fact

I hope not

I don't understand how akgaes even exist. I like Kpop groups because of their teamwork in their performances and how each members would have different charm. That's why I never really have a bias or ultimate bias. Yes, maybe sometimes I get to know a group because of one member and I would follow that member at first, but once I get to know everyone I always end up liking everyone. But if I can't like everyone in the group, then I don't see myself continue following that group in the future.

I doubt it.
I’m pushing 40, have been married for (*counts*) twelve years, my husband is almost as much of an ARMY as I am. I’m not going to comment on whether or not I am attractive as that is daft and entirely subjective. I am extremely highly-educated (I know many other k-pop fans are, but I am also aware that some people find this to be a weird dichotomy). I live in a veeeeeery white upper middle-class suburban small English town with virtually no Asian representation around. I listen to a hugely diverse range of music, and always have. I am in an Opera company. blah blah. If you wanted, you could suggest that the fact I don’t have kids means that I have areas lacking in my life and seek to fill them, but that would be a pretty misogynistic view IMO.
There are, of course, as in any fandom, going to be people that fit the stereotypical viewpoint, but categorising a MASSIVE number of people like that is lazy at best, and irritatingly superior.

I'm a male bg stan which is probably not the first thing that people picture when they think of a male kpop stan

Kpops stans think they're always right. But Im glad I know I'm not perfect

Oh I forgot to add this :)
My only sadness will come the day they disband

I agree chart obsession is probably one of the worst things about kpop fans and this stereotype fits many fans. The moment someone starts introducing charts in a convo, I just pretend that person doesn't exist

I appreciate the honesty lol. Good luck on your date! Also, do you tell people you're a fan of kpop or do you not disclose that?

I'm keeping that a secret for your safety
