anyone who gets jealous easily starts on hating to make themselves feel better about themselves....

its more of a human thing than just a male thing.. its just that I feel men are more honest and blunt about it while women try to give excuses and seem innocent.. not always ofc

Boys and men have always looked down on boy groups and the people Who support them.

Kpop boy groups in particular often have styling that is more gender fluid or accentuated things seen as trad fem and that threatens their ideas of what they think should be masculine and attractive.

Some western men who are macho may feel K pop boy groups are too girly or have feminine characteristics and may not want to follow them. There are some men who do have this belief.

There are many reasons for not liking them. But for straight hating the answer is simple: toxic masculinity, homophobia and misogyny.

Boy groups have been hated by other men since the beginning of time. New Kids on the Block got constant shade by students at school, people called them gay, f*gs, etc.

Its been a thing to hate to female hobbies from a long time.

Homophobia, it's because of their styling, they think it's gay. i don't think gay men hate them tho, it's just straight men. i have seen other girls who thinks the same too.

Easy because kpop is generally targeted to teen girls and grown as man love to harass and make fun of teen girls (not including some of the male kpop fans, but I seen gg male fans harass and make fun of female bg fans). Like what’s the difference from stanning a kpop group from a soccer team.

It is very normalized though, I don't think anyone considers it harmful when it should be.

I don't know why people wasting their time hating random things. They should focus things they like instead.

Its not Korean boy groups, its boybands in general.

It started in the 90s, prior to that Boyz 2 men, etc had more respect as artists as RnB groups, but in the 90s into the early 2k is where the boybands came in to play and devolved into what we know as modern boybands, backstreet boys, Nsync, 98 degrees, O-Town, New kids, B2K, Westlife, etc etc etc

all basically became a solo act with a side guy carbon copy, and buncha backup dancers, all focusing on having teenage female audiences

kpop BGs are the kinda seen as the same

e/ But at the same time, these groups are targeted towards female fans as that is where the money is, and male fans are a convivence, so if males are not the target, why would one expect male fans, and then on top of that, who cares

True story, although their music is fun, I can't empathize with overly cute and feminine girl groups. They're probably also jealous of boy groups because they're sexy and cool. There are also many people who don't listen to kpop music because they don't like it.

As for why most men don't care: most boy groups target the female audience. Why should most men care about something that doesn't target them?

They don't like pop music and they think their fan girls (who they despise) are being manipulated into supporting it

Like they genuinely believe it is unnatural for girls to like male artists in any capacity

They believe they are enlightened anti capitalists and anti patriarchal but of course it is okay for them to do whatever they want
