Do u think a fandom can lead to someone disliking an artist/group? Or is it an excuse to justify their dislike?

yes, sometimes. For example i met a lot of mean ARMYs and i didnt like BTS, but then i listened to them and starting to like them. So i think sometimes it could be the fandom

i dislike lots of fans of my bias group, but it doesn't mean i'll unstan them.

usually, kpop is more enjoyable when you just stay away from fandoms.

It can, imo. especially in K-POP

If someone can't separate artist from fandom, It's a big problem.

It's crazy that people like one fandom/artist but hate other artist due to their fandom. Hypocrites.

I don't think it's an excuse. That person probably can't disassociate the fandom from an artist. And people need to stop associating them both as the same thing.

It can, i like a lot of bts songs but i have a hardtime bc of their fans but it doesn't mean i dislike bts, i just doesn't mind toxic people

More or less. It can ruin the fandom experience and make you not want to associate with them. But you can still listen to and like the artist without actively being part of the fandom.

For me personally, not to the point of disliking the group but more like distancing myself from the group. Fandom can affect your experience and perception regarding a group since it's like a community on it's own, even if it's only some portion of the whole fandom.

If they do, it's just showing that you can't think on your own. You can be easily brainwashed.

No, I don't think so. Because every group tends to get bash by anyone whether it is by certain fandom or any fandom combined as a whole, but that doesn't make us dislike our faves.

Not morally but at that point, I started to dislike them so I couldn't help it. I really like iKON now though so things changed later.

Excuse for sure, no one on earth can stop me from disliking a artist/ idol but myself. If you truly enjoy their music you would not let a fandom stop you from listening LOL

It happens a lot and just shows these people are immature. It's perfectly fine staying away from whatever group you want but hating on them because of their fandom is so dumb, especially cause most times fandoms are ok except for a few bad apples, even the big ones

I think if you dislike the fandom of an artist you haven't listened to..or don't know much about...you might dislike or avoid them.

But if you find them good, then they are good. No fandom can change that.

It might deter you from checking some groups I guess.

But I never understood people who 'stopped' liking a group because of the fandom. When I'm pissed off at ARMY, I delete twitter for a few days, I don't stop loving BTS's music.

You develop subconscious negative feelings related to them once you have enough negative experiences with the fans. Its natural.

I guess it maybe will not stop you from stanning, but it can definitely push you from neutral or slight dislike to more dislike.

I never dislike a group, but sometimes I reluctant to listen to their songs because their fandoms are really rude.

Well, most of the time I always give a listen, it's not the artists fault for having terrible fans. Good music isn't related to their fans anyway

But some people need to be emotionally related to listen certain songs outside their favorite artists. So I also can't judge that if people refuse to listen the songs because of how the fans act. Music also can influence people, so people might wonder how BAD is their music to create toxic fans?

I dislike toxic fan behaviour, full-stop. This is present in every fandom in the world. If I wasn’t able to separate it, I would end up liking nothing...

I’m sure there are plenty of people who let the negative feelings spill over, if they constantly get into arguments with people from another fandom, for example... but it’s well worth remembering that it’s nothing to do with the people they’re actually a fan of. The easiest way to stop those negative feelings encroaching is by not engaging with toxic fans/people.

Yes it can, and no it isnt, anyone who does so simply lacks the maturity needed to look at things clearly. For example, since I stopped being an exol I have had numerous awful experiences with them and solos that culminated in switching my og tumblr account due to harrasment. Do I turn off every exo song that comes up on my spotify? No, becuase im not a child.

Most of those who do use fandom as an excuse are using it as a shield for their jealousy and hatred that was always there, the fandom just gave them a bs front to hide behind online.

if i have negative interaction or impression of a fandom, then I don't check out the group at all and put the group on ignore. but i never go so far as dislike. that just take too much effort.
