I don't agree at all. A big part of being an idol is having a personality (whether real or fabricated) that endears you to as many potential fans as possible, and I don't think Wonyoung has that. She's not relatable. In her quest for idol perfection, she lacks a sense of authenticity. I would even go as far as saying she has a certain robotic quality to her. Every time I see her, I feel like I'm looking at a shiny product instead of a person. While one could argue that all idols are ultimately pre-packaged products sold to us through carefully curated content, you're not supposed to be so cognizant of this. It's like seeing the man behind the curtain.

I say this as someone who isn't a fan of Ive and doesn't consume much content outside of hearing their music, but that is the rather cold impression she's left me with.

That's the thing. She's a true professional. As a public person she only let people know what SHE wants them to know. That's why she's not like other idols at all. You and me will never get to know the real Wonyoung and for a public person that's a good thing. I actually think other celebs, not just idols, should do this more to set boundaries and take care of their image.

Wonyoung's way of carrying herself inspired so many other people. Wonyoungism is full of young girls taking care of their health and studies. Lucky vicky that went viral in Korea inspired not just people but also companies, to keep a positive mindset.

For people who don't know Wonyoung she may seem like just another pretty girl but she's a genius. There's no one like her in kpop and most likely won't be in the future either.

And that may be just her personality? Some people don't want to let their guard down for others, some people are naturally introverts. She actually wrote a song about being perceived as cold to others, called Blue Heart.

It's one thing to not find Wonyoung appealing but some people like how she's always classy and with good composure. Some people think it's inspiring to show your best side to the world regardless of what's happening in your personal life the way Wonyoung does. It's certainly NOT easy, and that's what makes her even more intriguing and interesting.

I think Wonyoung's charm is that she's basically an actress the entire time when the cameras are on her. I know that could be spun as a bad thing, but to me, that's impressive. She perfected the subtle things that a K-pop company would love. Just look at how easy it is for her to wink; she basically made it her signature.

She's like an anime character in real life. She makes it look effortless and natural.
