What era? Specify this please. Also, they're not Kpop so it's not really a good comparison.
They're talented, BUT I don't think they're the best. IF we're talking about 5th gen, Young Posse is better, but I don't want to make a statement like this anyway, because it's too early, and my most anticipated group (WiTCHX) didn't debut yet. If anyone can be the "next Mamamoo" it's them.

Who exactly are people picking over XG? They have it all--great singers, great dancers and the best rappers I've heard from any Asian pop group.

i think XG is for sure the best dancer at the moment, and maybe the best rapper as well if that's what you're into. Vocal wise I still like Nmixx more. Musically XG songs are a bit of a hit and a miss, not as consistent as Aespa, NJ, LSFM for me.
ima see XG in SF in Oct so we'll see how they perform live, pretty excited.

Okay, I knew that already, but "this era" can mean many things. This decade, this generation, meaning 4th or 5th gen, or even the past 5-10 years as well.
Also, because you said, "any Asian pop group" you made this even harder, because we can include a LOT of other countries as well, and I'm 100% sure that literally no one knows every group from every Asian country.😂
And as I said, Young Posse have the same talent, basically, but they're not as mainstream as XG. Honestly, it's like the same group, but with a different style of Hip Hop and Rap music.
In Jpop, they're probably the best Hip Hop focused group, but in Asia, no they are not.

Of the mid- to high- to top-tier groups that I've watched a bit, I'd go between XG, Young Posse, and NMIXX.

XG is really talented. They have great rap flows, great singers, and great dancers. However, my vote is on Nmixx.
If we pit them together, I believe Nmixx would come out on top- as a group and as individuals, but XG takes in rapping. Nmixx have great, intense choreography that they pulled off while singing live. There are groups who can barely sing live. If you put Haewon and Jiwoo in a hyperbolic time chamber, Im pretty sure they'll ace rapping too.
XG is great at harmonizing and subunits group. I hadn't seen much of them in solos though.
5/6 members of Nmixx are on Mujin's Service. Their recent college festival are a buzz. So those 2 are great at showcasing their vocals and performances if anyone need examples.
High notes don't always mean good singers, but if 2 good singers are evenly match, the one who can hit a higher notes may have leverage and a better edge.
Vocally, Young Posse shouldn't even be in the same conversation as XG or Nmixx tbh.

Regardless of whether they are very or less well known and successful, there are some very talented groups, each with their own qualities. And for me there is no one that is better than all the others.
XG are definitely among the best.
IVE had a very strong first world tour including the two-day encore finale at the Tokyo Dome and impressed at Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic. They are among the best.
This year I was particularly impressed by WOOAH and YOUNG POSSE. Both won the Hot Potential Award at TMA. And both groups have shown that they have a lot of potential and are among the best.
