Agree/Disagree: New Jeans is the Greatest Debut Album of All Time

whenever you think an album is the best album ever there's a 99 percent chance some other album is way better than it.

"Cookie" automatically ruins it for me ngl. I didn't participate in the performative outrage but the song still makes me feel weird. The other 3 songs are perfect tho.

I've said it before but I didn't like any of their debut songs lol

We're two different people then, Hybe boy is one of those songs that just deeply bothers me. I don't like the singing and I don't like the melody. It irks me so I have to turn it off. I think their latest album before this comeback was better.

Maybe the best proper debut album by a k-pop group, but there are some sub-unit and solo debut albums I like more.

The way the debut was made was unique but as much as I love their debut album I don't see it as special or so much better than other ones. You can feel it that they had the money and had the creative team and I love it but it's special because they bought back the 90's, early 2000s, not because it was so much better than other albums.

Disagree. The best debut album by a Kpop group will always be Square Up. NewJeans is great too but Square Up >>>

So far NJ didnt outdo their debut album at least for me. Ditto+OMG was a close second but their debut has 4 awesome tracks.

Get Up is not even close. Part of their double single How Sweet is not doing for me atm, i will wait for part 2 Supernatural

Not for me personally. The songs are all great but it's too short at only 4 songs and 13 mins.

It's too easy listening and while it showcases their concept really well, I don't think it showcases their members really well. I feel like the timing was also perfect for it to come across as a breath of fresh air, where it came after years of girl crush and louder music.

For me it's Savage. For almost the opposite reasons as above. A really cohesive album with 6 great tracks. Showcases their concept perfectly but also allows the the individual members to shine across the tracks. Somehow still having great impact even after years of groups trying similarly strong concepts and music.

Even if my personal favorite NJ songs are not on the debut album it's still a big yes. Struggling to think of any other debut release that could even be compared to it.

Nope. It maybe the most successful because of its multi single push but musically there are better albums.

That feels like a cop out question then no lol. new jeans is one of the only group who debuted with multiple single push, while other groups have months of promo and even prereleases before releasing an album etc it all changes group to group.

These type of restrictions only serve very narrow use cases.

If you ask me EXO’s debut album I’m not even going to bring up the MAMA EP, it’s gonna be XOXO. Groups and esp GG’s even stopped releasing full albums.

So for example without being full album I won’t even consider any album in the greatest ever discussions because there’s simply not enough music to judge.

So, the general consensus is no.
