Was BTS "blocking the way" instead of "paving the way" this whole time?

Why frown at BTS for being successful? Even if they were TOO successful. BTS is not to blame for other groups' failure to succeed.

They were like any other group when they first started. I mean, they were from from an agency nobody knows about. BigHit and BTS combined their talent, creativity and resources and created a formidable group originally aiming for just a piece of the Kpop pie but went on for world domination.

BTS became successful on their own merit so there is no reason other groups can't be successful. They have the ability to reach their own level of success. Will they reach the level and height of success BTS reached? That's for them to find out.

BTS will block anyone on its path until another group comes out, consistently blocks BTS and forever change the Kpop dynamics.

I don’t understand the crux of the argument. BTS connected to more fans who lifted them up out of the pack of all the other groups. Sorry that the other BG weren’t able to see that kind of growth in their fandom

if BTS did "pave the way" and made "a way/path" then it's not their fault that other groups can't follow that path

the other groups also have companies and enough publicity and resources to achieve THAT amount of fame But it's not BTS 's fault that they can't also replicate that amount of success

TXT just gradually collecting fans since last year in game caterers, lollapalooza, summer sonic, etc. In melon alone, their followers started around 90k last year to 130k rn. Ofc naturally domestic fandom power can push them this much.

And other groups charting badly isn't BTS fault either. BTS solo still exist.

They stay underestimating them

of course for some achievements yes but overall they opened KPOP in the West so much it was massively positive for kpop as a whole. Any group who succeed in the West in the next few years will need to thank BTS

If BTS wasn't distributed in target, amazon, etc. back in 2018 due to their distribution deal with Columbia/Orchard, there likely wouldn't be so many international chain retail stores selling Kpop albums. And there certainly wouldn't be multiple groups charting on IFPI.

In terms of streaming, touring, and other aspects, BTS didn't block anyone. No one else could keep up.

BTS had the biggest head start considering they were already the biggest Kpop group internationally by 2017, and because they spearheaded Kpop's global expansion, they were the first ones to achieve and do many things. As a result, they just kept growing larger.

Kpop is definitely still growing now while BTS isn't releasing group music, so your whole shtick against them is false. You make up some funny lies to make yourself feel better, I'll tell you that.

Look at what has been going on with BGs since BTS went on hiatus last summer. Instead of paving the way, it almost seems like BTS was blocking the way, preventing the GP from appreciating other BGs (i have my theories about why BTS did so well digitally compared to other BGs but that's another debate for another time). But now with BTS gone, it's like a metaphorical dam has burst and BGs are now blowing up with the GP. I dont ever recall Dream, Seventeen or TXT charting like this on Melon Daily before BTS' hiatus.

Oh double fuck you. Stop using TXT for your half assed arguments, especially when you're trying to dig at BTS.

Seventeen had been charting decently since 2018 and Dream since 2021.
