What are your opinions on albums which contain Intro, interlude and outro songs? Do you have any that you liked?

Many albums contain very short songs, voice notes and short instrumental to set the mood to an albums and some others are nothing but "fillers". Artist tries to create a “narrative” when they make an album and sometimes use some of these special tracks to give their album a link between the different songs. I do think they hold significant importance on albums and i like to listen them when i play an album, what are your opinions on them?

"If you have time to fantasize about a beautiful end, then just live beautifully 'til the end."

  • Depends on how they are made

I wish it was longer than just 1:15

    A.C.E | ATEEZ | DRIPPIN| MCND | NU'EST | ONF | SF9 | Stray Kids | TFN

  • I always listen and if they are good, then I won’t ever skip them. There are some excellent intro, interludes, and epilogues on many albums over the years. For the great ones, they are an important part of the album’s story, even if just pure instrumentals. Music is music!

Not talking about the ones that are just weird a few seconds of sound effects lol

  • Came back to share the most recent interlude that was excellent and it’s just instrumentals. It was also used for the ‘Hope in the Box’ merch - which I managed to track down.

  • You made a good point, it matters how they are made. Some are made by mashing up sounds or a melody from the title track while some are more of new songs. Also some are specifically an extension of the title track while some are more related to the theme of the whole album.

  • i have a whole playlist dedicated towards intros I LOVE THEM so much. they're a certain type of ethereal that u cant get from songs, make me levitate n shit. listen to them standalone, that good.

  • When I’m listening through the album, yes. I think it sets the tone for the album. If it’s an intro or an interlude, it prepares me for the next track. Sometimes it contains elements of the upcoming song, so it adds to the ambiance.
