  • rbw really destroyed purple kiss’s momentum and hype from zombie just like that. the numbers show people were clearly tuning in to them after zombie’s positive reception, only for purple kiss to release memem as their next song - one of the most bafflingly terrible title track choices in kpop i’ve ever seen. and people’s interest in them evidently dropped like a rock unfortunately. they should sue rbw honestly :pepe-shrug:

    exactly THIS

i followed Purple kiss during their predebut era so i was really excited for their official debut

and they didn't disappoint me with Ponzona, which is one of the best GG debut song

so my hype was really high when they announce Zombie, which once again made PK stand out from other group by being able to go into a more fun girl crush comedic concept , they were a new breeze

But Memem was terrible, forgettable a lot of fans started to lose interest with Memem

but still had hopes that Nerdy will be their savior , and Nerdy was as forgettable than Memem

not only was memem an indigestible song and a inadequate, uninspired obvious imitation of what was trendy in kpop at the time, the kicker of the situation is that pretty psycho was literally right there in that album and practically a perfect fit for purple kiss’s whole identity and sound in every single way - this is not an exaggeration btw, but alas some dumbass on the executive level decided to brainlessly chase trends instead and went for memem to be promoted as purple kiss’s next title track after the success of zombie. one of the stupidest executive decisions in kpop of all time - this is not an exaggeration either

  • how does a group go from 30k to 2k without a scandal?

Too much competition, PK may be going the way of Weeekly.

I am impressed by StayC, they maintained their level with this comeback (in sales)

  • the triples unit was honestly a mistake. it was too soon to release a large representative unit of the group. whole thing seems rushed as hell. and of the original two units (AAA and krystal eyes). krystal eyes still hasn't been given their "debut" and now there are already 4 newer members that have not been voted into a unit and probably won't be for a while. kotone and the other new girl are stuck in perpetual purgatory rn while kaede and dahyun got a one way ticket to an early debut. seems disproportionate.

  • This really is the best way, just look at fromis_9 going from 21k to 200k sales from one release to the next :melon_think:

Company privilege is a thing. Even if company stans deny it with all their might. They'll all get that magical and instant glow-up as "Hybe group" "SM group" etc.

  • Triple s concept with so many members just isn’t a good idea. It only works for nct cause they’re from a big company sm and because they’re a boygroup. Gp doesn’t have the patience to get to know every member since there’s so many and the units keep changing which makes it hard to even follow them. About purple kiss, they’re from the same company as MAMAMOO which created initial hype but they’re not up to par imo.
