Someone on TW said this and maybe it's accurate - GOT is more of a BOA vanity project than something cooked up by SM or LSM. Maybe she convinced the execs at SM to give her a chance to regain her former glory by being put in the center of an Avengers GG of SM.

Problem is that she doesnt understand that throwing random members into random groups doesn't guarantee success.

If she wanted to comeback, she shoulda done it all on her own. Look at the MMM members, look at Jessie, Sunmi, and Hyolynn, all veteran idols pushing 30 or more and still busting ass working furiously to make music and remain relevant. They put themselves out there to succeed or fail on their own.

idk if this was a good idea for her career. maybe she should move on from idol stuff and do something else

I don't know anything about the rest of this, but BoA has had multiple comebacks. Last year, she came back with "Better" in Korean and "The Greatest" in Japanese. She was also a host for two different shows last year. She really has not had dead space since she debuted in 2000.

Honestly if this truly is just a BOA vanity project and if i were a member of Aespa especially, i'd be like wtf am i doing here? BOA has already made her millions, but i still need to hustle and build my legacy. I'm wasting precious days, weeks, even months on a former idol who already had her time in the spotlight. Even kings and queens need to learn when to bow out gracefully. If she wants to make a comeback, all power to her, just have her do it on her own.

It feels like everyone is hating on Boa for no real reason: age remarks, she's washed up, it's a project made specifically for her etc and putting the "failure" of the group on her. None of those actually get into the heat of the problem.

At the end of the day it’s not because of Boa there more fundamental flaws: the group's music simply isn't good enough to appeal to public nor individual groups' fans and every groups fans feel this takes away from their own faves CBs thus building up some resentment.

She does make CBs in her own though, she had one last year and celebrated her 20th anniversary a few years back. She doesn't need a project to continue making music, she can do that on her for 20 years now. It's that she's from 3 gens ago and hasn't resonate with the public for years that she's not seeing chart success. Even the ones you named have fallen off hard and aren't that relevant from their peaks of a few years ago or more. If GOT became super successful it's unlikely the positive results will carry over to her solo career.

Taeyeon is in there and public appreciation wise she eclipses every single female idols solo career combined including the likes of Sunmi, Jessie, Hyolyn on top and not even she can save the group. Does that mean Taeyeon is exposed as a fraud all of her career? No it means her fans don't care for the group.

Boa is not the problem. The problem is the music is bad and seemingly individual groups fans are against this unit because it takes away from potential CBs.

Why are comments so negative

Imo the song is bad and they have no chemistry, not interesting to watch

from what I've seen, BoA is unfairly scapegoated. the song is just not it.

Have the people blaming BoA heard the song? The song is trash and no one could save it. It’s tanking because of the music. Simple as that. People took it too far on blaming BoA. Especially Twitter Stans and their conspiracy theories. In fact I think the group would had better results if they just remake old BoA bops like Girls on Top.

Yeah BoA is not the problem, it’s the music’s quality that is the problem, I don’t like how some of you implied that she should retire of the musical industry because she is not successful anymore. As long as she is still passionate about music, it’s great that she is still trying.

They should have kept GOT rotational from the get go.

They let the success of Step Back cloud the game plan and it bit them in the ass. GOT with it's current line-up is not a group anybody wanted to be permanent.

Aespa should have had a comeback by now, but instead we got a trash version of an Aespa song with Stamp On It. Whoever approved that as their title should be demoted.

The concept wasn't bad, it def. was the material, the approach and vocal melodies that was missing "A-Side" quality. Bad habits die hard in institutions like SME though.

Well this may be a problem, because she did and it was ignored and your self are proof since you were not even aware.

BTW, BoA is 36 years old, Taeyeon is 33.

Lee Hyori came back in her 40s and didn't stop her, and Taeyeon's career so far has shown no signs of declining.

I haven't kept up with BoA or her music passed her Inuyasha ED and checking out the occasional song (and that terrible US movie) because she's a legend, but I saw K-netz complaining about the fact she hasn't really revamped her music or singing style.

They may be, but they have been getting over 1M views since the MV came out.

Btw the only reason or one the main reason step back even charted well was bc of aespa goodwill (and a little bit of ty one)

This cmb happen after aespa "sparkly new shine" it's gone, RV charted terrible and ty hasn't cmb since like a year ago

Sm always had weird song with corny lyrics but their performance depends of the context and RIGHT NOW it's not a good one for sm
