THE RED SUMMER IS PROBABLY ONE RED VELVET'S BEST MINI ALBUMS, HOUSES MY FAVORITE RED VELVET TRACK OF ALL TIME ("YOU BETTER KNOW")

ALONGSIDE THE ICONIC "ZOO" WHICH HAS YET TO TRULY BE TOPPED IN TERMS OF TROPICAL HOUSE, NOT TO MENTION ONE OF THEIR BEST BALLADS, "HEAR THE SEA".

PLUS THE ALBUM AESTHETICS. HEAVY ON THE RAINBOW AND FRUITS. FELT LIKE AN ACTUAL SUMMER SONG TOO.

NOT ANNOYING AT ALL, JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF BUILDUP AND CATCHY CHORUS, AND VOCAL EMPHASIS. PLUS THE RAP IN THE BRIDGE THAT SLOWS AND BUILDS UP TO THE EXPLOSIVE CHORUS AGAIN IS CHEF'S KISS.

I really love Red Flavor and think it's my favorite RV song, but AIIYL was like a drug for me. I felt like there was an eviction moratorium because that song lived rent free in my head for a long ass time. And while both songs are still addictive to listen to, I think AIIYL aged a little better. These two are some of my favorite Kpop songs of all time as well. Legendary songs.

AIIYL gets props for not having that last " hype" section in a song that YG groups are obsessed with.

I don't think it has ever made a YG song better other than maybe in Winner's Millions.

Forever Young would be my favourite Blackpink track without that last section.
