I don't think so since Kpop idols are created to make a fanbase for themselfes. Even IU, that kinda fits the Ed Sheeran comparison because she is well known by the general public has a strong korean fanbase

I would say K-rnb artists like Dean anc Crush fit the Ed Sheeran mold better

I would say Eric Nam fits but than again Eric isn't that popular enough and half of his fans are too horny

You are almost right. especially about the gp part, Zicos songs depend almost always on the gp to be a hit ( plus his music is extremely popular and mainstream in SK).

He does have a korean fanbase though ( just not very strong)

Iu has a big fanbase but they aren’t loud 90% of their success is carried by the GP.

Ed sheeran does have a fanbase. Otherwise be wouldn't tour as well as he does. Most western male fanbases aren't loud unlike the female ones.
