BP however comes back so infrequently that less popular (less aka #2 and #3) can try to vie for the number one spot OF THE MOMENT.

Because 4th gen bg fans can't be bothered to fight. Most of them stay in the guilds and stick to their own groups. Or they're multis. That's why troll threads about bgs have always flopped here, no one takes the bait. It's different on twitter though. But bg fans here are mostly chill.

True but BTS is on hiatus. They'll do special songs here and there but they probably wont have regular group comebacks for awhile now. This is the time for other BGs to compete against each other for the top BG title. And i've actually seen some tweets talking about BG songs charting top 30 on Melon, which isnt THAT bad lol. Good enough to have a fanwar over IMO.

In the past few days, the anons have been inserting Stray Kids in their obssesive gg fights out of nowhere to discuss international popularity and streaming, specially against the IVE and aespa girls
I'd like that people remembered they are irrelevant.

Right now so many popular ggs came back no one is really paying attention to bgs. But as soon as some popular 4th gen bgs make comeback the threads will return in anons.

For a fact I'd say before bg stans used anons to fight even more than gg stans.

Boy groups - except a few like Bigbang, BTS, EXO - rarely have any traction outside their dedicated fandom silos. They are irrelevant on digital charts and are mostly profitable based on physicals and tours - which again is just their fandoms.

Girl groups have an impact on GP, their fandoms not as insulated as that of BGs.

Besides, it is a global dynamic, that when it comes arts-entertainment it is the girls who primarily have the audience, and when it comes to sports-entertainment, it is the boys. IN THE RELATIVE SCALE.
