irene is with Sm Sm had an acting agency jyp removed it and sm produces more variety shows unlike jyp. Plus it’s just this year they focus on solo but they’ve never focus on other gigs other than music and group music mind u that

SM having an acting agency doesn't mean much since most of their actresses got most of roles outside SM. SNSD have all had dramas and movies outside for years, Joy too (I think Irene for her movie?).

Same for variety, a lot shows SNSD as group or individually appear are produced outside SM like Mnet or the main TV channels like KBS

Then obviously there's non SM idols who have also gone to to have solos or act, TV, cfs etc.

I don’t think is the most popular anymore she’s among and has the biggest fanbase but I think sana, Momo and nayeon are above her right now.

Depends where you are, in Korea it would probably be Nayeon, in Japan probably Momo and in America I think it might be a Jihyo. And Tzuyu is pretty popular as well especially in Taiwan

I think we know that it is unlikely that all members will have the same success as Nayeon if they released a solo. But each member has their particular strength. So while they might not alll become soloist, they could become popular with other fields

No one is saying that have to be Nayeon level or even a singer, just that most members have not shown any on going careers in any particular field whether that's acting, TV shows, hosting, constant cfs etc. So using Nayeon as the only example of the members having careers outside the group doesn't make sense.

While I agree that Nayeon and Jihyo have the most solo potential, Pop! definitely didn't chart within expectations. Considering Scientist and Alchohol-free's performances on the charts, most people, including onces, expected Nayeon's solo just to chart decently. I lot of people were surprised to see her charting as high as she is.

What expectations? no one believed that Pop was gonna do that well in korea since twice has not been doing as "expected" from a top group in there. Bare minimum promotions in SK and focus on jp, overseas tour, change in sound has led twice to have a decline there. (Not to mention Nayeon's promotions also did not follow this year's norm into making songs chart for long aka festivals) It's delulu to expect that Pop was gonna do well since almost all jyp acts hasn't been well received in the domestic charts. Whose alt are you or did you come out of anons?

I remember people saying Twice is just a local GG and they have been proven wrong. So I’m not surprised with this one too
