Deja Vu is currently the most streamed boy group song of 2024.
Yeonjun earned a solo music show win with 0 physical sales.
They've had their best selling year in Japan yet.
4 of the members had/will have their own solo web shows this year.
The most liked song from a 4th gen boy group on Melon this year is their own b-side track.
This doesn't sound like a group that is fading in popularity. They are still relevant and popular, just not trendy. People said the same thing when Eternity was getting outsold by SKZ, ATEEZ, & TBZ back in 2020, then FREEZE happened. Then minisode2 and the corresponding tour looked like an underperformance, but then Temptation happened. TXT will be fine, as they always have.

No, Kpop is not international.
3 of the BP members signed deals with American labels and release music in English because they can either speak English fluently or well enough that no one can notice that it's their 2nd language.
BTS has been pulling numbers far outside the range of a typical kpop group since 2018, as evidenced by them appearing on IFPI from 2018-2022. So they're also an exception, not the standard.
Kpop feels bigger when there are top groups going toe to toe with Western artists. It's still a niche market, just a bigger one now.

NewJeans score in 2022 was like 183. They're probably 3rd or 4th that year.

TXT is nowhere near in the same boat as ITZY. Deja Vu is still the most streamed boy group song of 2024 and they had their biggest comeback in Japan yet with Chikai going triple platinum. I'm not gonna dog on ITZY because their fans have been through enough frankly, but TXT is definitely still pulling their weight.

2022 - Lim Youngwoong (score of 344)
2023 - NewJeans (score of 624)
IVE was 2nd in both years. (2022 score - 277, 2023 score - 414)
2024 will likely go to NewJeans. 9 songs (Supernatural, Bubble Gum, How Sweet, OMG, Ditto, Super Shy, ETA, Attention, & Hype Boy) will be in the top 100 of the year end chart. DAY6 is likely going to be second (HAPPY, Welcome to the Show, You were beautiful, Time of our lives, possibly Melt Down).
Fun fact: the only artist who scored a bigger score than 2023 NewJeans was 2021 IU (634). A difference of only 10 points.
