"I Got the Boy" was a terrible mess but, it paved way to K-pop rhapsody standard, under which many great songs have been created.
Aespa's black mamba lore is the ultimatum of cringe but, some newer groups will come with nice cool lores (partly because Aespa has been warming us to lore-centric concept).
It ends once people stop streaming these songs. As long people stream them, companies think there is demand for them and produce more of them. Everything is going by supply and demand.
So basically….it won’t end?
I don't know if this will hurt you but gotta keep it honest, it won't be gone in kpop 
idols are debuting younger and groups are disbanding younger. there's no room for the sexy concept that plagued 2014/15 kpop. also, many idols will not stand for being objectified in the same way in the face of the korean feminist movement
when I said "sexy" concept I was more thinking about the kind of music groups like Sistar and Brown Eyed Girls were making during those times, that kind of sound that in Kpop existed only attached to that concept. Of course I don't want idols of any age to be sexualised or forced to show their sexuality against their will.
Take a song like Girl's Day's "Something" - It's part of that sexy concept spectrum, yet it is very classy. I would like a group like IVE releasing something like that when even the youngest member comes of age
Every trend comes back, and the sexy concept will surely make a comeback too in one way or another, respecting modern sensibilities
