What group got you into kpop? and what's your story?

I won't write a whole paragraph here but I got into kpop by BTS FAKE LOVE in 2018

it's my 8543855984th time saying this got into kpop in 2008 by BigBang. The song was "Haru, Haru".

a lot of my friends were armies so i was like "aight lemme see" and started listening to bts (this was just before dna dropped) and then i came back all excited and was like "YO YO GUYS IM STARTING TO STAN BTS NOW :D:D" and they were all like "GREAT WHOS UR BIAS" and im like " JUNGKOOK:D:D" and they were all like "bYe basic bitch" HGSHDJKHSDJK

but like i seem to stan groups just before they drop smth ~ huge ~ like it happened w bts dna, blackpink d4, and then mamamoo hip lmao

MAMA 2012 was airing on tv and I fell for SHINee's Minho looks so much that I couldn't control myself to not learn about him more, it was a heaven for me then to find out about SHINee, there was a site specifically for Shawols SFI, I joined it, talked with tons of Shawols and that's how my journey of liking kpop started.

stray kids and bts

back in middle school(when i didn't like kpop) I had a friend that stan Stray kids and I remember her always talking about them and one day i was like let me make a fanfic about them it will be my gift to you (i wanted to make it cringey so that she would stop talking about them) i ask her how her biases look and she gave me a vague description of them long story short i had to search them up find and got interested by changbin hyujin and their song miroh.

bts well they were all over my tiktok fyp for some reason then one day i was like you know what i will go check them out aswell and fell in love with fake love

Don't really remember tbh

SNSD was my first group with The Boys. I bopped to that song and Oh! Then I forgot about Kpop for a couple years, joined the trend when Gangnam Style was popular, but still didn't seek it out. Then I saw groups like Wa$$up and Crayon Pop on Vevo and I liked their stuff. Then I didn't really like the direction of American pop, so I explored the world. Started with Britain and eventually found my way in Korea. I starting stanning SNSD more and then I saw a top 40 GG of 2013 in Kpop video and was introduced to a whole new world. 40 groups who were all really talented and unique (the only group still active from that video is Apink and Brown Eyed Girls kinda). I started listening to boy groups in 2015 a couple years later. The rest is history.

during quarantine, i was bored and scrolling through youtube trending and found on there. i watched, got intrested and watched black swan mv. i dont usually use youtube so started listening to kpop on spotify and got to know bts more. fast forward to a few months later gave a try to stray kids content before i came across cant you see me? heard txt's entire dicography and well, now i stan just txt

Mine's a funny story

Story

So one of my best friends was a army like in 2018 or something and then she was always trying to get me into kpop introducing this and that and then one day she made me Forced me to listen to mic drop, anyway that song was REALLLY good, so I got intrested and decided to listen to another song, I listened to DNA, but then I didn't like it so I just got disintrested and listened only to mic drop for like a year then in 2019 around KTL era I was listning to ariana grande then automaticly when the song ended I got to a blackpink music video KTL, then Lisa caught my eye and the duo rap with jennie so I got intrested again and then I asked for other song recomdations and then the blinks recomeneded almost every gg in exsistance. then a army recomnened IDOl to me, then I listneded to it and liked it so then I asked for other song recomdations, and then this time I got a bunch of BG recomdations, and one army (I'll hunt you down, I'm coming ) linked me to a run BTS episode (I said I'm coming ) and another one made a joke about how once I jimin you can't jim out,(I hate you too ) anyway, a kind army linked me to her playlist filled with all of her favorites which is now my favorites and turned me army, then back to the blink area they were STILL sending me more gg recomdations (you guys are hopeless ) and then one sane blink sent me d4, which I liked like crazy, which than began my BP marathon, from whistle to boombayah to see you later,(I don't like stay tho ) and then because of all the gg recomdations I think I stanned Gidle, RV, twice,(Fancy was so gooodddd, They should that kind of concept again ) everglow, iTZY, and more on the FIRST week, as for the bg recomdations, I didn't even bother ,

oh and by the way, I think my taste changed I like DNA now kinda like stay too, the wonders of the world.

caught kpop on tv when i was 9 in 2009 , never looked back since.

although i never stanned any group until bp. i was mostly and a casual listener and watcher of like 545245 groups.

I was browsing Spotify New Releases and then ended up playing Solo by Jennie, it was such a bop and because of her i ventured into Kpop starting with Blackpink and ditched western music ever since, best decision ever

Super Junior and 2NE1 back in 2011 by my then 9 year old daughter. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve told this story.

I got Into Kpop in 2011. When I was just hanging out with some friends and one of my friends was watching a Video on his phone while he was watching the Video he say things like omg this is so sick, So disgusting. So I got curious what he was watching and so I ask him and he just tell me let's watch it together. I first thought he was watching a horror movie or so but it was Epik High - Run Music Video. The very first Kpop song I ever hear but this was not the what got me into Kpop. One week later the same friend come again and show BigBang Sombody to Love dance practice Video and this was the moment when I fall into the Kpop Hole.

hmmmm at the time i was obsessed with yuri on ice and lac troi by song tung m tp

so i was looking for more asian stuff that might interest me, i knew nothing about kpop then

and people kept mentioning blood sweat and tears in this youtube video

so i checked it out

and i prettymuch mindblown

and so i was an army until 2018

afcorse they were never that iconic again and with time they didn't improve so i couldn't take it anymore and now i am ashamed i was an army at all. And i am also sick of seeing them everywhere in general.
