If BTS, Bigbang, TVXQ, and SNSD are top 4 all-time, who's #5?

Twice? Although, they've declined ( Melon) a bit recently in Korea.
-
IF is the keyword for those four…. many delulu blowjobs will probably argue that 2ne1 should be part of that list since they were very big at their peak. Maybe even Suju.
Anyways, I’d argue Blackpink/Exo/Twice should be included somewhere along those lines in whatever order. Not even just about sales, but considering the fact their fandoms internationally is insanely big.

Your post is so vague, all times of what? korean popularity?
-

-
-
I agree
-
You forgot Seo Taiji
Not to be a hipster Kpop fan but Seo Taiji is president of culture but not an idol
-
SNSD. The first nation's girl group, and the first GG to develop a rabid BG style fanbase in the digital era.
TVXQ. The biggest album sellers at the time and massive impact in Japan.
Bigbang. The most popular Kpop act of alltime in Korea, their domestic charting will never be surpassed in my lifetime at least.
BTS. The biggest global BG in Kpop history and will probably end up as the greatest boyband of alltime, including local ones like Backstreet Boys, Nsync, NKOTB, BoyzIIMen, etc.
I think the weakest link above is TVXQ because their physical seller legacy is being eroded every year as Kpop explodes with album sales. BTS, EXO, Seventeen, NCT will all end up surpassing them, even Twice has a chance. Also, other acts have gotten huge in Japan like BTS, Seventeen, Kara and Twice.
Which means there is room for two more current acts in the top 5, not just one.
Blackpink and Twice

Legacy and impact with sales sprinkled in as well
then its bp duh
-
You forgot Seo Taiji
H.O.T too?

definitely twice - highest gg sales by far, and getting even stronger worldwide
maybe bp

.

The argument that they were the first big idol group after 1st gen disbanded and also performed in the Nissan Stadium or something like that
-
I have top 3 of BTS, Seo Taiji and the Boys, Big Bang in that order. But I don't have a solid #4. I have H.O.T, TVXQ! & SNSD all at #4. Their impact is very similar to each other. I am not finding a point to differentiate them. I don't think even SME will choose one out of 3 because all 3 were instrumental in making that company. So I have top 3 and then top 6, not top 5 lol.....
-
and thats one of the points of why I mention bp
3/4 solos that broke records not just physicals sales wise but streaming ones
sell like bgs individually and as a group, million of followers around the world and in sns (bc its 2022 if u dont use them I assume u live in some forest with not electricity)
they have smth few ( just 2 groups of that list have)groups have, they are a force collectively and as individuals, u dont see that often in kpop bc its one or the other, rarely both

Who says they're the all time top 4 though? You're skipping over 1st gen and acts that came before that. You can't really compare legacies over different eras, the situations are just different. Best is to just rank top 5 of each gen
1st: Shinhwa, Finkl, Hot, g.o.d, SES
2nd: TVXQ, SNSD, Big Bang, Suju, WG

TWICE outsold H.O.T.

I find it funny even K-pop folks talk about "all time", when it is an infant industry 30 years old.
The only guaranteed great is "Seotaiji & the boys", rest are subjective and "so far".
So it is a big "If" in the question.
Sales wise BTS and Bigbang.. Sure.
But impact wise, Psy's viral hit is the introduction to k-pop to millions in the larger world.
And in Korea, that digital monster IU reigns unimpeded.
Japan was won not just by TVXQ, but BoA.
K-pop exists because of LSM, fine he is not a performer, then YG and JYP, are the creators of K-pop.
There would be no idols without them.
-
all time?
What about Seo taiji & boys (and H.O.T)?
-
-
-
-
bp and twice should both be there imo
-
-
No 1st gen? I see that's already been mentioned, the lack of them.
Also, if we're going for a Top 5 for each gen, and I realise this is so trivial and that this has been done to death to the point that even I am starting to think 'why even bother'. But for the 3rd gen Red Velvet should be able to qualify for the #5 spot.
After the other 4, Red Velvet have been the most often and the highest ranked on Gallup's yearly popularity polls, their charting and digitals have been better than NCT's and Seventeen's.
Unless this is purely about album sales, Red Velvet performs better in more areas than Seventeen and NCT => so a better candidate for #5.
Anyway. Those are my thoughts about it.
