Do you guys believe in astrology and why???

There are certainly general truths to doing astrology but then again

there are vague statements that can be universally true.

"You are a human"

"you enjoy music"

Some astrology passages I've read tend to be fairly vague in this way, albeit with less obvious general statements.

Not really. I don't see how a bunch of star signs can tell someone's future. I've read them and they've never come true for me. I was born under the sign of Leo and that's it. Though some of the traits ring true for Leos - loyalty, which I am. I'm a bit of a skeptic I'm afraid.

I don't, but they are kind of fun to think about I suppose.

Actually I believe what I like, and if I don't like something, I don't believe it.

I have my natal chart ran so technically I have characteristic of half of the zodiac signs at different placement. So you can see how wide and ambiguous it can get. Secondly, supposedly we all have our signs wrong and we are suppose to be 1-2 signs later. For example, if you're a Scorpio, you are supposed to be a Sagittarius or Capricorn and etc.. And if you go online, you will find a bunch of people who are Scorpio and identify with everything about the Scorpio description, but they are technically Capricorn. What does that tell you?

I don't tie people's personalities to stars at all.

But I do believe that people born around the same time period, in the same cultures, could act in similar ways.

So it may end up with a similar result, but from a different method.

But it's definitely not absolute.

and this is why i don't believe in astrology. i don't think you can just look at someone and just determine their entire life for them when they were born. yeah, some things are destined for you but essentially you make the choice of who you want to be. those are all my beliefs though.

ive seen similarities occasionally, but there are so many people on this planet and so many different combinations of those many different things that there's really no way to prove how consistant this is.

also, people who immediately try to stay away from me when i say gemini are annoying as hell and not worth my time if you ask me because we always get along so well until that point. like i don't suddenly change as a person. im the same, i think the same way as you and we share the same ideals as before.

Not totally. Like I don't think horoscopes can tell my future or anything, but I do read them sometimes for fun or when I am anxious and indecisive about something.

I do find that some traits associated with certain signs have rang true from my observation. Like most of the Pisces I have met are indeed more indecisive than others, and it's very annoying.

My boyfriend is a Scorpio, and I am an Aquarius. Apparently we are a TERRIBLE match and could never work, but...so far so good.

No. It makes no sense.

No, astrology is based on a load of horseshit about the position of constellations that have changed from thousands of years ago. What star sign you are now doesn’t match what you would be when astrology started out as. It’s like giving an adult medication based on symptoms they had as a baby.

Plus it’s the usual mind trick stuff like Very vague predictions, positive reinforcement (because you are so cool the first person on Tuesday you meet will go out with you) and basing it on a hint of truth/relatability which makes people more inclined believe something.

Before Christmas holidays I was hanging out with a friend who read my horoscope and it predicted that I would find a big surprise and relive the happiness of youth….it was going to be Christmas in a few days of course that sort of thing was to be extremely likely for millions of people. And you know what in particular was a surprise and part of my childhood? Tickets to see Spider-Man aka the most anticipated and hyped filmed of the year. I’m sure that totally only applied to my star sign and had no influence with the big Spider-Man movie discussion piece in the newspaper with my horoscope.
